This Life from Shutterfly

    Does anyone here use that program?
    I have had it for a while and had no issues. The other day I allowed an update that made the change from "This Life" to just "Shutterfly" and now my computer is toast. I can start it up and even begin opening a folder or program then it locks up and the screen goes black.

    The level of angry I am at at right now is above my usual Irish angry.

    If you use the app/program...don't update.

    If you have updated, please let me know if you have had any issues.

    I really hope I haven't lost all my photos from this year not to mention scrap and design work.

    Yikes! I use it all of the time, but just realized that my uploader was gone. I went to open it and it said I needed to update it, so I'm not. Are you Mac or PC?

    Me too! At least if I lose stuff it will be just this year. All of my previous years are on my external. But still.

    I have a mac, so it might be different but I'm sure not going to take that chance.

    I went in search of any internet chatter about the changes to ThisLife and I'm not pleased with what I'm finding (I haven't seen anything specific to your issues though). I seriously LOVED ThisLife... the auto uploads, and all of the options for organizing. It looks that now they're merging it back with Shutterfly (which some speculate will undo any albums/tagging that you've done) and it is going to take up to 18 months to complete the merge.

    I hope you can get your computer running again! That is one of my worst nightmares!

    Oh gosh. I'm so sorry Brenda. I sure hope this can be fixed without your losing anything. Have you been able to contact Shutterfly? Fingers crossed that this is resolved fast!!!

    I tried emailing but kept getting an error so I posted to Facebook. I may call once I've calmed down. I don't want to lose it on some poor customer service person. I would probably make them cry. That wouldn't be very nice.

    Because I was determined not to spend money, I spent several hours today finding out what was wrong. I've since removed the software and it seems the computer is running again. I'm taking the time to move my photos from this year over to my external now just in case. All day. ALL day I had to mess with this. Sigh.

    I'm so sorry, Brenda! At least your photos aren't gone completely.

    I had something similar happen today with my graphics card and a driver that I updated. It kept restarting my computer and I couldn't get it to stop. I finally had to complete a system restore and ended up losing 2+ hours today to it. It's ridiculous that software companies don't take the time to complete troubleshooting before they release.

    I'm sending ((HUGS)) your way for better hours tomorrow!

    Blurgh! Darn updates! I'm so glad that you haven't lost any photos Brenda, but sorry both you and Cheryl had to deal with lost time because of this.
