I can remember years ago buying a macbook and tried learning it for about a week (I had never even touched a mac before that). Even had one of my husband's students come and try to help me love that thing but I HATED it and ended up taking it back. Fast forward a few years and I bought an iPad when they first debuted (still have that thing), then we bought more iPads (I think we have 8 now LOL), then I moved up to iPhones, and then I had to replace my computer and as I was browsing through the store I came across the iMac and fell in love with that machine. I was not even looking for a mac due to my previous experience. All of that to say this, I think having the iPads and iPhones helped me so much because it was just a seamless flow for me after already using the apple operating system and now apple is about all we have in our house. It only took me a couple hours to figure out my new computer when I brought it home because everything was so intuitive and because I was already used to how apple works. Having the iPads and iPhones was huge in my learning curve. My husband is a college professor and he uses pages and a power point app all the time in his teaching. It's been a big help to him. I only use my stuff for fun so I just run photo apps on mine, and games!! Good luck. You can always call Apple support with questions. I had to use them once and they went above and beyond what they had to do to help me and got everything worked out. So helpful.
