The want, need, wear and read|pad patter 11.28.2018

I Want a laptop (so I can sit & scrap on the couch with hubby while he watches his dumb shows!) ;)

I Need some new lip gloss- seriously I have like 5 almost empty ones- how does that happen!?!

I will wear new christmas leggings!

I will read library books- I told my hubby to save the $$ & not buy me books this year!

I'll just start by saying that I STINK at sticking to this type of list of my kids. :giggle But, they are getting stuff to wear and possibly books if I can find any they want that I haven't already purchased for them during the year. They know that if they ask for a book Mommy will rush right out and get it from either the library or Amazon. :giggle

For me... I don't need a dang thing. My poor hubby wants to buy me gifts, and I'm having a hard time giving him ideas. Lol. I just bought myself a TON of new clothes over the last two months because nothing I had fit me anymore after losing 30 pounds. YAY! So I think I'm getting new slippers and a gift card to Michaels! Perfect!

Oh... and I really do need a new (to me at least) vehicle. Mine is dying and it's been in the plan for us to get me something more reliable and for long term since college is on the horizon and I don't want to have to replace a vehicle during those years.

I still can’t think of anything! My husband told me last night that I had given him enough ideas for presents that he was done shopping for me. Only thing is that I don’t know what I want and haven’t given him a list. This should be an interesting Christmas!

I really don’t need anything to wear because I have a closet full of clothes. I can never have enough wool sweaters, though. I’m always so cold that I can’t have enough of them on hand to keep me warm! And if I’ve a hankering for something new I typically head over to the Salvation Army store. The one near us is HUGE and I’ve found amazing things there. I’ve always loved thrifting and my money goes for a good cause.

I don’t read much, and I have a pile of books given to me to read that are untouched. I tend to read sewing and needlework magazines the most of anything, and I’ve also a stack of them waiting to be read. I also have problems doing my Bible Study homework because I’d rather scrap or be making something than read!

The only thing I need is to continue to declutter my house and get organized, but that really isn’t a present, is it? I’ll just settle for some See’s Candy, I guess!

want - a weekend away to see my bestie in CO
need - new pots 'n' pans (but we can start with a new skillet & a new spaghetti pot), my parents are getting me an InstaPot as my gift this year
wear - bathrobe (I will get this from the kids, I hope!), already ordered BLACK SEQUIN JOGGERS for 15 bucks earlier this week so how can anything top that, really?!
read - don't read much as I can't remember to return the books on time and then my kids inevitably misplace or lose one

I Want ... an electric blanket

I Need ... a new ceramic frying pan

I Will Wear .... sweat-wicking undies for when I jog (didn't even know these existed until my daughter told me about them)

I will read a subscription to Paleo Magazine (the only paper magazine I like to get, the rest I read on subscription to an online magazine service). I would have said I would read "Nom Nom Paleo" but I treated myself and bought both books and can't wait to sit down and go thru them. They are very visual with lots of pics.

Something I want: Lush bath bombs and bath melts (I've got a bath tub now!! Whoo!)
Something I need: curtains for the bedroom
Something to wear: felt slip-on slippers with an outdoor sole.
Something to read: this gorgeous full illustrated Chronicles of Narnia book that's been on my wishlist for almost a year now...

Love this! Reading thru all made ma laugh!

want - extra space in my living room and a new kitchen, we are saving for it!
need - lose some more weight...
wear - some sports clothing... I hate it...
read - there's a lot on my list, just need some time to sit down and start

(I read more slowly on the Kindle, which is frustrating cuz then I never finish my digital library books before they're deleted off my Kindle)
Is it a Kindle or Kindle Fire? I hated reading on the Kindle Fire. I loved reading on the Kindle. DH bought me the Paperwhite this year (Maybe Mother's Day?) and I adore it! It's like reading a real book with just enough light to see the pages.
As to the library thing....Usually, I binge download books. Then I stick my Kindle on airplane mode. The books may expire, but until I come off airplane mode, my Kindle doesn't know it. I've used that trick to finish quite a few books!

I am getting them each a little something and opening a savings account for each one of them.
My mother in law opened one for my son last year. He loves knowing he has it, even though there isn't much in it. My favorite thing she did was buy the grands a movie theater gift card with a note that it would be a grammy-kid date. He loved having a date with grammy, and she loved spending time with each of the kids.

Only thing is that I don’t know what I want and haven’t given him a list. This should be an interesting Christmas!
I can't wait to hear what he does! OH! Maybe he bought you a pass to the place you love to go. Williamsburg?

I want a new sweatshirt that's not torn up at the sleeves from over use.
I need a new Silhouette blade. Sigh. But I'm not waiting until Christmas for that!
I will wear new slippers. Mine are getting so trashed! And this tile floor is cold at night.
I will read I am Malala. (For school. I guess that doesn't really count....)

I love the movie theater gift card idea! I thought about it at one time but had forgotten, thanks for the reminder!!

Good question! It's a Kindle Fire, so maybe that's the problem. As for the downloading/Airplane mode thing, I accidentally discovered that, but a recent update as gotten around it. Now, even in airplane mode, if I try to read a book it just won't open and a little popup says "this book must be returned. It's due." (or something like that). Oh well. Since I also use my Fire to watch shows while folding laundry, I frequently have it out of airplane mode anyway.

Still works on my Kindle Paperwhite!
I would totally recommend trying a Kindle. They often go on sale for about $50-$70 (Kindle, not Paperwhite). And it's been worth it for me! It really is like reading from a paperback book.

I Want: another cat :tree

I Need: new knife set

I will wear: American Eagle Skinnies

I will read: hmmm... maybe a GC to Audible (I listen to LOTS of books)

Want: Mirrorless camera.
Need: Mirrorless camera.
Wear: Mirrorless camera on a strap.
Read: Instruction booklet for mirrorless camera!

Actually I don’t need anything right now...and I’m content with my iPhone X camera, so the mirrorless camera is just a whimsical bug someone planted in my brain. I’m wearing clothes that make me feel less like a bag lady, because I’m losing weight, and seem to care more about how I look...”shopping” in my own closet and thrift stores. Reading: Abosolute Surrender by Andrew Murray, and The Obesity Code by Dr. Jason Fung. Oh, and Lies My Doctor Told Me (author escapes me at the moment, and I’m typing from bed, and don’t want to leave my warm place to go look). Hehehe. I also love my Paperwhite, but found that airplane mode doesn’t work on it (my only disappointment in the device).

Well, today for Christmas I got new axles, control arms and tires to the tune of I may never get another gift again, but I will play along!!

At our house, we watch a LOT of movies so we add watch as one of the categories!!
I want some roller skates! (Preferably black boots with rainbow wheels and laces, but if they are high tops and the right size, I'll work with it!!)
I need fridge stickers or grease pens to mark when things get put in so my husband will stop feeding the kids questionable foods. (He can't smell at all, so it's not his fault but it's scary!!)
I will wear Nicoles, Perfect Ts or TC Leggings from LulaRoe!
I would like to add the movie Crazy Rich Asians to our movie collection because I loved it!
I am reading The A-Z of Therapeutic Parenting, which is my Christmas book, but I couldn't wait to start it when it arrived today!

I usually can do a pretty good job of sticking to these 5 gifts at Christmas, but for the littles this year, we decided on a sensory toys Christmas, so it's all wiggle cars, a crash pad, and spinning seats! They'll have a great time because they are just getting too big for most of the sensory stuff they have now! :D

Huggles!!
~Sarah~
