The storm is coming!

Keep the positive vibes coming, please. We have storm #3 coming later today and they are warning it will be the worst one. Over 75,000 homes without power in the BC lower mainland and on the island, so far. We were out last night trying to put the drain pipes back together as they were ripped off the house and scattered across the lawn. I was so nervous watching my hubs up on the tall ladder, trying to get them all hooked up again. Luckily he did. So far our power has stayed on but many around us have been out since Thurs. Fingers crossed. If you don't hear from me for a bit, you'll know why.

If it wasn't for the torrential rain, I would have loved to be out there yesterday afternoon taking photos of the gale force winds blowing everything around, but no, I didn't want to be out in the rain, getting soaked and didn't want my camera out there either. Today we have a break, as the rain is light, the wind died right down and now we wait to see what this afternoon/evening brings.

Of course, it really disappoints me that our beautiful fall colors will probably disappear over the wkend with all this wind and rain.
Sending lots of positive vibes your way Rae!! i love the photographer in you that wants to take pictures - even in torrential rain and storm! lol :) I'm glad reason prevaled this time - which isn't the case, when I am involved! lol :) take care sweetie - hope there isn't any destruction or casualities and it shifts!

All the positive vibes here must have helped....the storm passed by us, not hitting us full force. Whew...so relieved. I did not want to be one of the 70,000 homes that lost power this wkend. Throughout the afternoon, the rain picked up, then the wind started up again shortly after that so by dinnertime it was getting nasty out again but then throughout the evening the wind died down and its been a steady downpour of rain but no damage done to our property. TY all for your good thoughts. So as far as I know, we have 7-9 days of steady rain ahead so some areas may still have flooding issues but I don't think it'll be a torrential downpour.

@Pallavi01 Yes, you understand how I feel LOL. I was just itching to capture the way the wind was blowing the trees and the flurry of leaves flying through the air but....my camera isn't waterproof and I was sensible enough to realize that holding a camera and umbrella in that wind probably wasn't going to work well. So I resisted.

Glad you are ok - you also inspired today's Pad Patter! https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/life-hacks-pad-patter-10-16-16.45160/

@bcgal00
Rae, I'm just seeing this - Mother Nature does not have sympathy as she rolls though - glad you didn't get hit full force with the storms!!!

so glad the storm skirted you! I have to admit I'm weird and I love a good storm but not one that you might end up getting damage and the power being out!

*waving at @jenn mccabe*

We had our worst weather at the beach on Thursday and Friday. It was pretty crazy. The wind gusts were totally intense. There was a lot of sideways rain and inches and inches fell. We ended up leaving for home on Saturday because they freaked us out with the reports of what could happen. There was a lot of water over the roadway and pretty big gusts of wind while I was driving, but once we got off of the coast and headed inland, it wasn't as bad. And then the really bad storm missed us and went north, so we did a lot of worrying for nothing. Saturday evening was pretty much a non-event here, inspiring a lot of snarky memes from people throughout the region :giggle
