What are you doing this weekend?? Any big plans? I hope you all have something fun!

Me?
I'm very happy it's Friday! We are ending the work week, but also coming to the end of a 2 week process of flooring install. My house is under renovation - we are getting new flooring, some paint, and new stairs. It's been a balancing act of who is coming when to do the jobs that need to happen in necessary order. I had no idea I'd need a plumber to get new floors LOL. Today the flooring /baseboards are hopefully going to wrap up. The painter is supposed to come to stain the endcaps of the stairs since it's finally warmed up enough to open the door for venting for a few hours this afternoon (35'F, I know but compared to 15'F degree high on Monday it's good) before the carpenter comes tomorrow to install the spindles and handrail. This will help a lot since the temporary rail is so narrow as it sits on the unfinished wood which gets covered by carpet later. Sunday I should be able to start cleaning up and moving furniture back into their spaces so we can use the main level of our home again. We have a lot of work since they were sawing inside (again due to the cold), but it will feel sooooo much better to get everything cleaned off and normal again. We've been living in 2 rooms upstairs with 2 golden retrievers too. No kitchen since it's filthy with sawdust. But it will be worth it in the end!

House renovations are so crazy! I’m glad there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for you!

No set plans here so I’ll probably be driving around kids and helping DH install heating duct in our basement.

Oh boy that is a big disruption, but it will be so worth it in the end! I love the view from the landing here! :beat

I will have a short weekend unfortunately since I fly out on Sunday (at 6:30 AM:hairpol) for a short work trip, so tomorrow will be packing, some home organizing projects, and relaxing mainly.

Oh that's so great you have a handy hubby!

Ooof work trip sooooo early! I hope it's smooth travels!

I have spent the last three days off work with viral infection. So my weekend will consist of reading, watching tv and scrapbooking.

If feel well enough will be going to my allotment Saturday to assess any damage from the high winds we had today.

Been through renos! I feel your pain! But once it's done, it's so worth it!

We may hike, but nothing really planned.

Yep, I know what a hassle it is, it evokes some fond and not-so-fond memories of our remodel. Love the pic of your beautiful entry.

Hate renos but love the results! Looks great on yours so far.

Every year I try to see all the Best Picture Oscar nominees. When the list was released this week, turns out I’d only seen three so far so I have my work cut out for me! DH and I are ordering in tonight and watching Emilia Perez and then going to the theater tomorrow to see The Brutalist (3.5 hours long!). Then maybe going to the mall with my daughter on Sunday. We both have a hankering to browse and touch pretty things. :giggle

Waiting for the Maytag repair guy to fix my washer then do laundry. Hope it gets fixed!

No big plans. Just the usual hiking/walking, cooking, watching a movie with my husband, and resting to recover from my workweek.

Your door is beautiful. Wonderful for letting in so much light.

Ooo feel better! I very much dislike high winds - I hope you don't find damages!

Oh that's a fun tradition! My MIL tries to do that too. Ooof that is a long movie though. Have a fun time at the mall too!

Nice... not. Good luck! My DD is doing the same.

Thank you. Enjoy the movie and rest!

To be honest I don't really have any idea what day it is but I'm giving myself grace on that with everything that has gone on the last three weeks.

This weekend is a long weekend for us here with a regional holiday on Monday. All I'm hoping to do is a job application & maybe some scrapping depending on how I feel.

It'll be sooo worth it when it's done!! Good luck with all the rest!

I'm hoping to get chores and errands done tomorrow so that on Sunday I can kick back and watch football! I need to do a little paper work for school at some point. Other than that, I'm going to enjoy the fact that our temperatures are finally going to be out of the single digits and teens lol.

(((hugs))) take your time - it's a lot

Oooo yes single digits are no fun... we warmed up today, so I know what you mean!

Such a pretty entry, even under construction! I love the light! We have two bathrooms that need to be gutted and redone and almost the entire house needs new flooring, but 30 years in this house has us stacked to the rafters with stuff. I can't imagine how that would work. DH is pushing to have it done within the next couple of years before he retires.

My weekend is currently unplanned, other than helping DH with a small project. I am off work and am hoping mainly to just rest, but we'll see how it goes.

Thank you - We've been here 21 yrs and that is relatable. We are storing things for our kids too, as they are not yet where they will be (grad school). If nothing else, it was a good excuse to purge.
I hope you get some good rest and enjoy the weekend!

Gosh that's tough- especially with the doggies! It will be worth it though- can't wait to see pics!

Well, since it's Sunday evening now- that pretty much sums up our weekend! lol We had a local hockey game for our players that we host in our house on Friday night (WHL- Spokane Chiefs) and then hubby, son & I left for Canada for his hockey games (Saturday in Trail, BC & this morning in Nelson, BC.) My daughter (16) stayed home to watch dogs since she had softball practice on Saturday & had to work this morning. She was 'in charge' of our hockey boys (18 & 20 yrs old) while we were gone! So funny! We are home now so it's catch up on laundry & meal-plan for this next busy week!

Oh wow! The renovations sound so exciting! Everything will be so neat and clean and new when it's done. I know the in between part isn't the most fun, but you're going to think it's worth it once it's all finished! Can't wait to see finished pictures!

I had a wonderfully not-busy weekend. My hubby left Friday at noon for a weekend of ice fishing with a friend, so I went grocery shopping on Friday after work and then didn't leave the house until Sunday morning for church. :giggle It was just my youngest and I at home. I spent most of my weekend on creative endeavors, so that was fabulous. I even worked on a couple 3D printing projects with my son! I helped him 3D print a character for dungeons and dragons and then was so excited about how cool it turned out that he wanted to paint it too. So he came down to my craft room and we hung out together. That was so fun. It will definitely be making an appearance in my scrapbook soon. :agree

Haha that sounds like an eventful hockey weekend! Sounds so funny having games in Canada :)

Wow 3D printing is super cool! Sounds like a great weekend chilling for the most part. I’ll take and post an update once I’m home later :) the big posts are in but the spindles are not do we still have the temp railing back up until next Saturday booo.
Floors and baseboard is done! I do now have to get my doors sawn so rugs fit at the entries.
