It's Friday and what a busy week it's been! What are your plans for the weekend?

I am just about doing cartwheels this morning because we're packed up and ready for a road trip. We are going to visit our oldest daughter at college. I haven't seen her in two month and I am missing her fiercely, so I really can't wait!! We have a happy weekend of family togetherness planned. Perfect :beat

Well, we were supposed to go camping with the cub scouts. But, it's just been cancelled cuz it's supposed to rain heavily this weekend. So, I'm sitting here trying to think of something fun to suggest when I break the news to them. We could go to the SF Zoo before the rain starts or maybe do some crafts. I'm open to a new Lego kit & some building. We'll see. I have two midterm essays due next week, so I'll have to do those at some point.

I know of no plans this weekend (beyond my daughter's usual dance schedule)... and it's freaking me out a little. I must be missing something!

Oh yeah... the CUBS! I'll be watching the games at home and my husband and son will be going, not together though. We have a quarter share of the season of a four seat block of tickets which means for the playoffs we get one of the four seats for all of the games. Thankfully we're within walking distance of Wrigley, so my son is able to walk there and home alone.

We have three soccer games on the calendar but the rain and high wind warnings might postpone them. We had a new fireplace installed this week, so the weather might be conducive to a relaxed book reading session in front of a fire. I'll just add hot tea/wine and relax.

@lmccandless - have fun!!! I'm NOT looking forward to my kid moving out! It helps that he is only 5 now!! Lol :)

@jesskab - what a bummer!! Do let us know what you finally end up doing! :)

@tkradtke - aah!! You are making me miss wrigley!!! We used to live in Chicago - but never walking distance from the stadium!!! Hope you have a blast! :))

@lowan - that sounds blissful !! :)

@mimisgirl - congratulations girl on your new amazing gig!!!! You should forget the kids and just do cartwheels this whole weekend!!! Lol :)

AFM - my son really enjoys music and dance - I recently discovered it! There was this amazing performance in his school for Mexican Independence Day and he cannot stop watching the video of the performances on my phone! So I'm taking him to watch this highly recommended folk dance performance of Mexico on Sunday ! Needless to say I'm super excited and now it better live up to expectations!! :)

Well, first today is my son's 19th birthday. I want to celebrate it with him so much, but he's on an LDS mission in Salem Oregon, so I sent him a birthday party in a box instead. My daughter and I decorated a box and put a bunch of party stuff inside (banner, party hats, blowers, balloons, etc). We told him to hang up all the decorations and put on the hat and have his companions take a photo of them celebrating his birthday. We also included a restaurant gift card so he could take his companions out for lunch or dinner.

Then, I'm helping with a neighborhood Halloween carnival today/night. My friend has been doing this carnival for 14 years to give the neighborhood kids a fun, safe way to celebrate Halloween. She doesn't make money. She makes fun! I've been going over everyday this week, helping her get things ready. I'm heading out again in a bit to spend the better part of the day to finish setting it up. It fills her yard and spills over into her neighbors side yard. Thank goodness he's a good sport about it. It's become such a huge success, and we figure over 200 families come to it each year.

That sounds like a wonderful family weekend, Laura!

We have.... soccer. lol.
Seriously, 2 games for each boy on Saturday, and 1 game for each boy on Sunday. Plus.. .one is a team costume game! Argh, lol! :giggle

I'm hoping to squeeze in dinner with friends on Saturday... and some scrappy time this evening and Sunday!

Awww, Laura, have a GREAT time!! We are expecting storms - rain and wind - all weekend, so other than getting my nails done Saturday, and a trip to the grocery store, I'm seriously considering hunkering down in the house and vegging all weekend!

oooooooooooooooh we have a concert this weekend at out church...it is an outreach kinda thing...any ways, we have mini skits...and I get to me a devil...bhwhahah..I just got some cute little red sparkly horns...my 8 year old has been wearing them all day..so appropo!
I am making sight word vocab flash cards and science!

Not sure what the weather holds for us this wkend. They are issuing storm and flood warnings for the west coast for today and tomorrow. Thousands are out of power already and they expect thousands more by tomorrow night. Fingers are crossed we get lucky and our power stays on. I'm charging up my e-reader so if we're in the dark I can still read as its backlit. Luckily we have a gas stove so can boil water for tea/coffee and can BBQ some easy meals. Tomorrow I've got a birthday party photog gig to shoot (2 little one-year-olds) so hope the centre has power on tomorrow for that. If my computer stays on, I'll be editing over the weekend to finish up the last session I shot last wkend. Then that'll be it for awhile as I have nothing booked for a few months. I started watching Scream Queens on my laptop this week and am enjoying the silliness of it and it's a good show to watch as I do computer work b/c I don't have to really pay attention all that much to know whats going on. Today and tonight I'm staying warm and cozy indoors and have my sweat pants and comfy sweater on.

Tonight I'll be scrapping, maybe watching TV or a movie with hubby.

Alabama football game tomorrow (just watch on TV, no tickets to the game, but we have tickets to our comfy couch LOL).

I've got to edit some photos and get them posted on Facebook. Family is asking about them . . . I'm so behind!

We're supposed to go to the beach on Sunday for a family dinner (hubby's family is camping out there), so we'll check that out.

@lmccandless Hope you have an AWESOME time!

Have an awesome trip!

We're starting with a Memorial Service at Arlington National Cemetery this afternoon for my MiL's cousin (he was retired). It will be a family reunion, gathering people from as far away as California. He passed away months ago ... it takes a long time to get on the internment schedule at Arlington.

Tomorrow DD has her first official Theater on Ice practice. She got on the Senior team, and she's thrilled! DH will be camping with the scouts, so when we're not at the rink I'll be home trying to get journaling done from our summer trip.

Today is exciting. First thing, as soon as my daughters got up, we watched the first episode of season 12 of Supernatural. :D

Tomorrow I'm walking with my friend up in Georgetown (D.C.), a new location for us. And we're arriving early to take advantage of sunrise. We both love photography as well as exercise. :)

And tomorrow evening we're meeting some friends for karaoke. The place we've been going to for this for years has switched from offering karaoke weekly to only doing it once a month. I'm just glad they are still open; they nearly closed at the end of the summer.

And then of course Sunday is for scrapping!

Happy weekend everyone! :happydance2

@michelepixels Y'all sure need an early start to see sunrise in Georgetown! I'm thinking of a day in DC on my own sometime soon as i have to close a bank account at the Senate.

I may have a breakfast tomorrow with friends in the early am...we always decide at the last minute cause the place stays the same. Later I have a trip to Costco to return a batch of stuff and then a visit to a woman in the Detention Center. She's waiting for a bed in a Halfway House and it's been 6 months....Sunday out to breakfast with another couple is about all that's set. Maybe I'll get myself to do a batch of garden cleanup. Sounds like a Sunday to make a good soup too!

Oh, have a fantastic time visiting your daughter, @lmccandless !!!

Everyone's weekend plans sound so fun...the busy and relaxing ones!

I just got back from taking my kids to the symphony in Kansas City. Tonight I'm going a Mom's Night Out thing in our neighborhood. I think there are going to be some LuLaRoe and Ronan and Fields reps there. Tomorrow morning my neighbor and I are going to Yoga (it's been several weeks and I NEED it!) and in the afternoon I'm taking the kids to a Carousel Museum in town. I think they have one of the oldest carousels. Sunday is filled with church and planning for next week.

And there will be lots of scrapping time at night after the kids are in bed. :)

Yayy! for family times everybody that is planning them and the best of fun sweet vibes to you @lmccandless

We are saying goodbye to my Aunt today, I have been helping her since her accident and my uncle's death. She is moving home to be with her family and finish rehab form surgeries. She has been here my whole life, and the only one I have left since my Mom died 4 yrs ago. UGH...I guess I will be planning some trips to Ohio, hahaha!

We are prepping for our big hunt camp trip that starts next week. We disappear a couple of times year. The longest is the upcoming trip which is the start of hunting season here. I spend a lot of time in a hammock and in front of the bonfire, shooting guns - not hunting, that is my hubby's deal, walking, hiking - the usual woodsy stuff. I have really come to like these breaks - no internet, just the woods. ♥
