It's Friiiiiiiiday! :yesss

What do you have planned for the weekend?

Tonight, I'll be having some much needed R&R in preparation for tomorrow. Hubby and I are taking our youngest and a group of her friends to a water park for the day as a special birthday treat. She's so excited. I'm sure it will be a fun day! On Sunday, my mom is flying in to visit for a few days. She didn't want to miss the very last first day of school for my senior. *sniff* So, it's a busy family weekend for us!

Sounds like a great weekend, Laura! :)

Weekends and days of the week have no meaning here right now. I don't think it's felt like the right day any time ever this summer. I keep thinking it's Friday when it's Tuesday, Sunday when it's Thursday, etc. :dizzy

We've still got two weeks of summer break left. Nothing too exciting planned for this weekend. It's tax-free weekend, so we will likely do some school supply shopping. DH is headed out of town for a convention so I get to drive him to the airport tomorrow. (yippee?) Other than that, we'll mostly just be staying inside in the air conditioning, trying to keep cool during these 105°F days! :firey

I am heading to a work luncheon soon. Tomorrow I hope to go hiking with the family (we go to a place called "Silly Mountain" that even the kids can hike!!!). I have a friend coming over for a play date. And hopefully lots of scrapping time :) awesome BYOC goodies to play with!

We have school supply shopping on the agenda. WV doesn't have tax free weekend, but VA does and fortunately we are only 10 min from VA in 3 different directions lol. I think I'm going to pair that up with the 40% back in teacher rewards that Staples is doing through tomorrow. Other than that, nothing to exciting planned. One week until I go back to work, so I am going to get some relaxing and scrapping time in while I can :)

Checklists and continuing to pick up little things for the boy as we prepare for him to leave for college.....think I am the only one preparing, lol.

Baseball Sunday and that's about it.

We might be boring...
No kids off to school in a week or three, need to replace the toilet in the upstairs bathroom, clean the solarium, decide on date for my retirement this year or early next, mow the lawn, trim the weeds, do laundry. buy groceries.
mundane, but needed all.

Ah yes, the dog days of summer. We've mostly escaped 100 degree days this year but I know it's been really hot down your way. Air conditioning for the win!

Have a great hike and a fun scrap date, Kristina! :)

Yay for tax free weekend. Enjoy your scrap time too! :)

Sometimes mundane can be absolutely lovely, especially when you're contemplating retirement. :)

Hope your weekend has a little bit of Birthday for you Laura!
Jaye, I remember the days. It's bittersweet times. You might be surprised what your son is doing. Mine had more done that I thought. I'll be thinking of you as it's a hard time for mom.

Me? Homework Homework Yay Yay Yay -- okay it is definitely getting to me. But don't feel bad for me. I'm putting a push in to get done early so I can play with scrapping and art journaling. Hubby is fishing

It's our last weekend before school starts as well. We have a wedding on Saturday and dinner with friends Sunday night. and then it's back to school. My oldest is starting middle school and I am just hoping I can keep it together!

We just made it to our place in Michigan yesterday afternoon and we'll be here for a couple of weeks until we have to go back for our daughter to start school (she starts 8/27, but our son doesn't start until 9/8).

We're keeping pretty quiet as Clara (13) is recovering from pneumonia (which she came down with during our road trip last week). Tonight we played board games. Not sure what's up for tomorrow during the day, but I think we're going to head over to the little movie theater in a nearby town to see Ant Man in the evening. Sunday is wide open. It's really nice to have unplanned time after our crazy summer.

Eek, woke up to thunderstorms today, not a good day for the water park! I hope you can find an alternative that agrees with everyone, Laura. Have a great time with your Mom!

I learned how to sew last night (well, learned how to thread my new machine). DD and I took a class at JoAnn's. (https://the-lilypad.com/forums/showthread.php/38084-Sewing-Pad-Patter-8.8.15).

Today, I have a going away lunch for a friend moving to Germany, so cooking all morning. Then church tomorrow and school shopping in the afternoon. No, I'm not waiting until the last minute... school doesn't start until Tuesday (orientation when we drop off supplies is Monday or I'd do it then). :giggle

We're working on a couple of home repair projects today, and then going to a minor league baseball game tonight (our first in years). Or course when I bought the tickets, the weather today was supposed to be in the low 80s. Now things are cloudy and threatening to rain. So perfect. LOL.

I'm also hoping to scan a bunch of old paperwork so I can toss it and hopefully organize and make sense of our office space. My craft supplies are out of control. I have a book to read that has to be returned on Monday, and I'm going to get some writing done as well. We'll see how much I actually get done. LOL.

Late yesterday afternoon, we met with Olivia's university financial counselor and finalized some things. Then Olivia and I headed over to my mom's to meet my sister and mom for a Girls Night In. Mama made a layered salad and breadsticks and for dessert we had cheesecake. My hubby and son went to eat and ran across a vintage car show, so they were very happy.

Today I ended up resting quite a bit with my back, but I have finished narrating a video of a layout I scrapped with BYOC goodies. Love how the layout turned out and I just hope the volume is better on this video.

Tomorrow I'm still unsure about church attendance. I move so slowly in the mornings, but I may try to push myself to go anyway. Other than that, I'm going to do some template designing and some more scrapping!

Well this weekend was all about writing an essay that was due today until I came down with a chest cold so got an extension til Friday - yay.

I always see these threads AFTER the weekend. Lol! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had zero plans which was rare and awesome for a summer weekend. We've had a lot of out of town visitors these last few weeks with people wanting to come stay so they can hang out at the beach.

But this weekend, we had nothing planned so we cleaned out our storage area in the basement and got caught up on Netflix and laundry. Not very exciting, but SO enjoyable! :) We have more company coming this weekend again. Lol.

This was a busy weekend so I'm doing a recap since I didn't get a chance to post earlier. DH returned to work on Friday after some minor surgery earlier in the week. Then haircuts for DD and DH Friday afternoon (man DD looks so grown up..it's hard having a 14yo...I really shouldn't have blinked). Saturday DD and I went to a board game day in my hometown that the group I started with my brother hosted along with the local library. We had 37 people show up throughout the day. Was a fantastic time..unfortunately DH didn't join us because he was a little sore after working on Friday. Yesterday we took an impromptu trip to St. Louis because I wanted to go to Trader Joe's. We stopped by Best Buy first because DH wanted to price out some electronics he's considering buying and then of course a stop by QuikTrip on our way home (we almost always stop at QT either on our way in or out of town..it's just tradition). It stormed most of the way home and there were some patches of heavy wind/rain that I wasn't a fan of and then again we were woken up in the middle of the night by heavy storms and it was still storming this morning when DH had to get ready for work. I have a feeling I'm going to be tired by the end of the day (but probably not as tired as DH since he woke up earlier than me and I expect he will be sore after work and he starts call today for the week).
