Well with no children or grandchicks at home and being retired, Friday is just another day for me. But when dh is home we almost always have pizza for dinner - and then leftover pieces for two meals each. I'm blessed he's happy to eat that all weekend! I'm too lazy to drive thru Fri night traffic to get a smaller pizza just for me while he's away. I made a matzoh ball soup last night which I'm looking forward to tonight.

Annapolis will be jammed this weekend as the Bay Bridge Run/Walk is Sunday. Shuttle busses ferrying people back and forth to the bridge all day. I live a couple of blocks from the Navy Stadium and while they have an away game tomorrow in FL, there must be something else as cars were pouring into the parking lot today. I'll be out for breakfast Sat and Sun but then my time is free to binge watch some tv and get a bunch of scrapping in. I may move furniture too...always a fun thing to do when I have the house to myself!

Sounds like you've got some good plans for the weekend. I had to chuckle when you said you might move some furniture... I've been known to rearrange the house when hubby's out of town. I have a set of super sliders. They make moving furniture a breeze... as long as I'm not moving it to another level of the house. lol

Clara was off school last Friday for parent teacher conferences which threw me off all weekend. Both kids are off today (one for a school improvement day, the other for the Cubs parade) and my husband took off from work. We spent the morning at the Cubs parade (just the segment near Wrigley... didn't even attempt downtown with that mass of humanity). So I'm already thinking that today must be Saturday. Need to regroup or I'm going to be at the wrong places at the wrong times!

oh no! I'm sorry they threw off your day.... I hope you can get that nap in or at least sleep in on Saturday.

I'm always thrown off track, when hubby takes a day off. He took Monday off for Halloween and the kids were home too, so I was thinking it was Saturday all over again... it took me a couple of days to get back on track.

ohh I always, always loved Fridays!!!! even now that I don't work...Fridays feel like I can rest and forget about bills and payments and tidying up my house LOL today's had a bit of a downer which was spending the afternoon in hospital but the girl who works for me now came with me, she even treated me to the cafeteria's tea , sandwiches and salted caramel cheese cake.....

anyway, I made a new FB cover I'm almost falling asleep but need to wait another half hour for some medication I need to take...so I just thought I come and say hello!!!

You sound good for spending the day at the hospital. I'm sorry you're not feeling well, but glad you got treated to lunch.

Kayla.... worse was, I wasn't there because I wasn't feeling well....
Long story, I had a hip replacement gone wrong in 2003, 4 operations trying to fix it failed miserably so I have lots of mobility impairments and 13 years on medication, plus I am now diabetic, have a lot of other little things and fybromialgia.
I have a heart arrhythmia and a murmur...so they monitor my bloods for all the medication I take....I am 90% of my time bed bound, but when I had some test for something else, the lab called my GP surgery saying I needed to go urgent because my potassium is very high....
this happened before...and I had NOTHING- after 3 weeks monitoring my potassium (meaning blood tests every 3 days) my doctor said stop the dioclofenac (anti imflamatory ) and the potassium got ok.
now ...last night a doctor from my GP surgery called, they wanted me to go last night, I said no.
I m not going LOL
This morning my GP called me and said she wanted me to go, not to ER but to blood clinic ....so the whole afternoon there for nothing! anyway, I m in good spirits only need to sleep, will try in a bit <3

Today was a busy grandma day, so I was worn out and had to take a nap when I got home. I didn't sleep much at all last night because my daughter is having a job crisis, and I'm beyond stressed out for her and the situation. Ugh. This weekend we don't have much going on. I'm going to try to get some writing done because it is NaNoWriMo, and I haven't officially written anything yet (unfortunately TLP comments don't count ). I've also got a lot of cleaning to do this weekend. No fun.

But we did have a spontaneous date night last night, so I am thankful for that small feat. We left Kennedy with my grandma (she's so thrilled to feel "useful") and went to a small community movie theater. They had a one-night showing of The Curious World of Hieronymous Bosch, which was fascinating. His art is so amazing for the time he lived (the end of the medieval period), and is still impressive by today's standards. Also amazing is the technology that now allows art historians to film, x-ray and show the art in such high definition, it is mind-boggling. And Tim only fell asleep two times (that were obvious).

to be honest the Royal Free Hospital is not really my cup of tea, but is 4 blocks away and I don't pay parking.
University College of London (well call them UCH) are 10 minute drive but I can't park in the area, even though I have a disabled badge, that is considered the start of the West End (is across the road from the Warren Street Station in Euston Road, the new buildings) and parking goes for 20p every 5 minutes..... not a very good deal and the disabled bays are always taken...so that means taxi ... I go there but if I have to opt for surgery or staying in ...I will always try switch to UCH...

Funny I never paid much attention to him, until I started reading Michael Connelly books about Harry Bosch (the detective)... how amazing that you have that showing!!!! I love the things they can do these days with technology....not only in art but with archeological findings...we had showings at the British Museum of CT scans of mumys (spelling?)

Friday evenings are the best! Yesterday, I dropped my youngest off at my daughter's house to spend the night and I came home, grabbed the laptop and the tv remote, curled up with a blanket and enjoyed the quiet haha. This is our first weekend with no football, but we do have to go to my mom's house this evening for my birthday dinner. It was Thursday, but everyone was busy. I've been cleaning up the house and doing laundry this morning, and I took a trip to the nail shop this morning for some me time. Tonight and tomorrow is all about couch time and football on tv

We went to our son and DIL's house last night to celebrate hubby's b-day (with an apple pie he backed yesterday afternoon) and spent time with the grandbabies. Took an hour walk through the park this AM with hubs and now he's getting ready to go for a motorcycle ride - more than likely the last one for the year before he puts it away (the weather has been crazy warm here in Northern IL for this time of year) and I'm going to pick up Greyson (youngest grandbaby) and watch him today while our DIL, her mom, her sister and Harper (our oldest grandbaby) have a girl's shopping day. Our son is working today. So everyone is going in different directions today.

Yes, I'm a grandma, but it was a busy day *with* my grandma. LOL. All my other days I just consider normal. Hahaha.

I'm the same with Bosch. I'd never heard of him until the Connelly books. Hahha. There will be a whole new generation of people who discover him and his art because of the character being named for him.

Yes, technology can be so amazing with art and history. One of the pictures they ended up talking about is one that was over 50 GB because they scanned it at such an intense resolution. But they can then zoom in and out and do all of this cool stuff (like uncover images that had been painted over). It was incredible. I love that they showed these paintings that were over 500 years old, and the camera was so close you could see every crack in the paint.
