TGIF - Thank goodness it's Friday!

I don't know about you, but I'm sure glad it's Friday. It's been a long week here on the home front for me and I'm looking forward to a little relaxation this weekend. Friday is good in so many ways. It's date night... that's the plan anyways. We try to go out on Fridays so we can reconnect and have a little time just as a couple. My husband travels a lot for work, so that leaves me running things at home all week. I like to get a little break and not have to cook so we usually go to dinner and sometimes catch a show.

Fridays also mean new releases here at the Lilypad and this Friday's BYOC is AMAZING! I couldn't decide what to work with. There were so many wonderful things to choose from. I kept going back for more.

So do you like Fridays?

I love Fridays ... mostly bc there's a decent chance I don't have to get up at 5:30 AM the next morning. I hate waking up that early. Sometimes the kids have an activity that requires an early wake up ... but the weekends usually mean a little sleeping in. ZZZZzzzz.

We have a pretty chill weekend coming up. A final XC meet and a soccer game. I am planning on cleaning the inside of the house and the hubby has some outside things to attend to. I hope to get a good long hike in with the dogs. And then make homemade veggie pot pies for Saturday or Sunday dinner. (not sure yet). Very relaxed, homey weekend planned here!

Enjoy your date night!

Oh yes, I forgot about the being able to sleep in part! That's the best! I'm one who could sleep in til noon if my hubby would let me. My 16 year old does sleep til noon, if she doesn't have to work the early shift at the pool on Saturday. Thankfully, soccer is finished until Spring, so we don't have to be up early for that.

I love Fridays! I'm right with Jenn... I SO look forward to sleeping in a little bit on Saturdays. Tomorrow we don't have anything on the calendar either and I'm so excited. My youngest is having a couple friends stay the night, so hopefully they don't stay up too late. :giggle

We have ZERO, zilch, nada plans!!! For like the first time ever! ;) Soccer is over for kiddos & while they are in ice-skating lessons- those are during the week at least! I think the hubs & I might try to catch a movie or something & there is plenty of Fall yard cleanup to do- but nothing set in stone! :happy

I've got a busy wkend but somehow just b/c its the weekend, it makes it all seem less stressful, less demanding. I've been sick, coming up on two weeks after the wkend...ugh) and I've been pushing thru the fatigue, working, walking dogs, etc but I hope to have a mix of rest and productivity this wkend. I don't like being behind so hope to get some client editing finished up and also catch up on my transcription work. I found time to scrap (of course, nothing hold me back from that) and was just giddy with excitement over the BYOC stuff. I'll be working on another blog article and am going to spend some time working on it from my computer set up in the LR. It's going to seem weird to work in another area, another part of the house KWIM? I'm so used to being in my office. But I think I'll like having a little corner to myself in the LR, being able to hang out with my hubs and chat, plus I get to watch the big screen with him and we can watch our shows together. Meal-wise, I'm going to plan a few crockpot meals with extra servings so I can have some leftovers for other dinners next week and want to make a big batch of spaghetti sauce to freeze. I know I have chicken and bacon in the freezer so they might make a good crockpot meal with a sauce. Any ideas???? Let me know. I'm always up for a new recipe to try out.

I hope the kiddos let you get some sleep.

I love it when we have no BIG plans. I need to do some Fall yard cleanup too, but I probably won't this weekend. I didn't get it done last year so I was happy when it snowed and covered it all up. I just want to be lazy this weekend and enjoy the nice weather.

Rae sorry you've not been feeling well. I hope you're over the worst of it. Having a corner to yourself so you can still be with the family sounds awesome. I'm always bringing my laptop out so I can be with the fam.

When you mentioned you had chicken and bacon, I thought of this casserole that my MIL used to make. It's amazing. I used to make it for Sunday dinner, but with 9 am church I never seem to get up in time to put it in the oven.

Hope this photo of the recipe is readable. Most of the time I don't have the creamy mushroom soup, so I just use 2 cans of cream of chicken and it's still delicious.

@keepscrappin Thx Kayla. It took a little finagling b/c pinterest wouldn't recognize the photo as a pin but I took a pic of it, saved it and then was able to load it into a secret recipe pinterest file I have (so its not just out there floating around as it's not a public share). Whew...that took some brain work on my part LOL. My poor flu-rattled brain just about exploded with all this thinking LOL. This sounds like something I would love and the only thing I don't have is the beef but I wonder if I really need it, maybe just the chicken and bacon would suffice. What do you think?

Sorry you had to go to all the trouble to get it on pinterest.

About the beef... I haven't made it without it. I usually just grab a cheap bag of the Carl Buddig Beef or Corned Beef lunch meat and use that. It really is good having all the different kinds of meat and the saltiness from the bacon. It's kinda like a deconstructed cordon bleu. But let me know how you like it without the beef, if you go that route.

@keepscrappin No, it wasn't much trouble at all and of course thx so much for sharing. Actually, putting some corned beef on it sounds good. I haven't had that in ages. I'll pick some up in the del later. So, I guess I will put the beef on it after all :)

Yep, corned beef is sounding good to me too. I may have to go grab some and make this over the weekend too. ;)

This Friday I am still on vacation with my hubby - just us. Saturday, we drive home and back to reality. Might get some scrapping in on Sunday. That would be nice.

I love Fridays!!! We're finishing up school here today and looking forward to our weekend plans. Oh, some neighbors and I got together for coffee this morning. We did this pretty regularly last winter and it was so nice to look forward to catching up on Fridays. :)

I usually enjoy Fridays as it's the beginning of the weekend! My daughter gets up between 6:30 and 7 am every day, no matter what, and I've gotten her trained to go down in the basement and watch TV or play on the iPad until a more reasonable hour on Saturday and Sunday mornings. :giggle

Her 2 1/2yo brother will usually go downstairs, too, if he sees the door open and the light on so I can sleep in until 8 or so. He makes it abt 30 to 45 minutes before he comes upstairs to shout 'Goo' morning, Mama!' at me before lying on my face, ripping the covers off of me, and/or climbing on top of me in bed and bouncing on my stomach until I roll out of bed.

My husband has been getting up with them and getting them breakfast (Dunkin donut holes FTW!) the weekends he is here so I like that part, too!

This particular weekend, however, she is going down to Indy with my husband to see her grandparents and big brother so I will be on Toddler Duty both mornings. Ugh.

hehe... my little sister and i used to quietly watch saturday morning cartoons, so as to not wake up our parents. if the parents woke up we had to do chores... hope your lil guy lets you sleep in this weekend.

Well with no children or grandchicks at home and being retired, Friday is just another day for me. But when dh is home we almost always have pizza for dinner - and then leftover pieces for two meals each. I'm blessed he's happy to eat that all weekend! I'm too lazy to drive thru Fri night traffic to get a smaller pizza just for me while he's away. I made a matzoh ball soup last night which I'm looking forward to tonight.

Annapolis will be jammed this weekend as the Bay Bridge Run/Walk is Sunday. Shuttle busses ferrying people back and forth to the bridge all day. I live a couple of blocks from the Navy Stadium and while they have an away game tomorrow in FL, there must be something else as cars were pouring into the parking lot today. I'll be out for breakfast Sat and Sun but then my time is free to binge watch some tv and get a bunch of scrapping in. I may move furniture too...always a fun thing to do when I have the house to myself!
