Terms of endearment...?

I with you Cynthia... I don't love the "sweetie" thing. Especially from people who don't really know me yet. I call my boys all kinds of nicknames like sunshine and sweet pea and pumpkin. My youngest's name is Wyatt and we call him Wy-Wy and Wiley a lot. Then my oldest's name is Cody and we call him Codeman.

When I was younger one of my friends had a roommate who's boyfriend was over all the time. They called each other "baby" and is just annoyed me. It sounded so syrupy sweet and fake. Guess what my hubby calls me now... sigh. :giggle

hahahahahahhahhahahahahah laughing with so much pleasure here!!!!!!!!

love the nicks for your kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :heartlub:heartlub:heartlub

I am a sweetie kind of girl. I'm always using endearment terms. I forget people sometimes don't like them.

Dalis... I don't mind it if being someone who knows me.... and I know they aren't using it lightly.... also there is something vital: online, we hardly can "feel" the voice intention, so sometimes coming from certain people it can be annoying.....
I know am a bit of a nutter...I do have a bit of a reputation of being a moaner/complainer

:whip

ask my colleagues at the GSO or the Dares
:rofl
but generally is because am a sucker for following the rules and being fair with people......
of course the world wont fall apart if being called sweetie or hun or whatever from someone who doesn't know me... thing is, I honestly am no sweet person..... !!!!!!
:giggle:giggle

I most certainly don't mind it coming from my designers ...I love them too dearly and I know they mean well..... :heartlub and my friends, you know you can call me whatever!!!!!!!

Around here (South Coast UK) people use the word 'hun' which I detest! Don't know why I dislike it so much. So many people use it. Did it come from the US? Short for honey I suppose? Anyway, I too hate being called love by strangers...but is quite nice from loved ones. Nicknames are abundant in our house - I am Kashley or Kate, alot of my friends only ever call me buzzer cause of my name, Lewis is Loops , Matthew is Moomins (only within our 4 walls though, it being his 'baby' name and he is now 21)! Hollie is Hols, Paul is Paolo, India is Indieburger, Poppy, the dog, is Bobcat and Tarzan the cat is ALWAYS called Tarzy Bear! Most are just shortened versions of our actual names I guess, but we always use them. What a fab thread to read through. Not just my family that are bonkers. I am sitting here chuckling away ha! Oh and I always use sweetheart when talking to children!
