So I finally did it. I gave in to those Facebook ads and did an order on Temu. I didn’t spend a whole lot, the whole thing was about $11. What I got:
1. Pair of bunny ears for Charlotte
2. Froggy hat for Charlotte (she wanted to be a pollywog too)
3. A ball for the cats
4. Bee costume
5. Cat toy on a stick
6. Strawberry slicer
7. Oil sprayer

Yes that’s a lot of stuff for around ten bucks and shipping was free. The order came in about a week. It was all just in a big plastic orange colored bag. The bag was taped shut and looked like it had been opened. I started to pull things out of it on my kitchen counter. Everything looked good until I got to the oil sprayer. I opened the box it was inside of. It was glass and it was broken. Then I noticed there were little pieces of glass on the counter. Luckily all the clothes were in little plastic bags. But the pieces of glass were very small and what a mess. Very disappointed that the item was broken. Customer service consisted of automation and basically I got my money back for the sprayer. Would I order from them again? Maybe? I have to try the clothes on Charlotte and depending on how they look I might get more stuff for her.

have you bought from Temu or Schein? How was your experience? Get any good deals?

Nope, will not buy from Temu. They are a subsidiary of a Chinese company and products are shipped from China as well as other places overseas. From the reports I've seen, everything is made in China.

As for Schein, not sure I'm their target customer.

Oh no Danica! I’m sorry about the broken glass! That is my least favorite thing to clean up because I’m always afraid I’m going to miss a piece.

My daughter keeps wanting to buy from Temu and I keep saying no just because their ads everywhere are annoying me haha

Same daughter has bought clothes from Shein and loves them. I expected them to all fall apart in the wash because they’re so cheap but they seem to wash well.

They have cute stuff from what I've seen in ads but I'm hesitant to buy from places with prices that low. I have heard bad things about working conditions for Shein, and I wonder if Temu is similar...

The prices are tempting but I won’t buy from them for similar reasons. First local business lost out to Walmart; then retail lost out to Amazon and now we just ship all our money directly to China? I know it probably won’t make any difference but I’m not a fan.

I've seen Temu's ads ... how can you miss them, lol??? And I've seen some stuff that interests me, but like Lynnette, I'm hesitant to buy from places with prices that low.

I've ordered a lot from temu ... and never had a problem . I got work clothes a new swimsuit ..things for Cassity.. Xmas gifts... necklaces and earrings for me..
Their customer service is awesome and anytime a package Is late you get 5 dollars..and if you want to return something a lot of times they say just keep it and refund your money....
So far almost everything has been wonderful. I did get a couple pants and shirts that didn't fit right but got my money right back. And you can't beat the prices

I have never ordered from Temu, but I do have a great sweater that I got from Shein. I hesitate to buy much more that that for lots of reasons, but I do have a friend who orders from Shein all the time and loves their stuff.

I've never even heard of them! Sorry for the broken sprayer though!

I’ve made a rule with myself to make sustainable choices wherever I can. The biggest I currently focus on is clothes: I only buy local sustainable brands or second hand. I don’t want to support fast fashion in any way so Shein is an absolute no go.
I followed a course all about finding out your style: what are your practical needs, what is your style, what is your colour type. Finding all of this out, means I now know what to buy and what not to buy. I don’t follow trends and wear what I have and feel good in it.

About Temu: I’m not familiar (it’s not big in my country, yet) but I saw a video on TikTok where they compared 3 car seats for children. One of them was from Temu and over $200 (for that price you expect quality) but it was absolutely not safe and didn’t follow restrictions.

10 years ago there was a major disaster with a fast fashion clothing factory collapsing in Bangladesh, many people were killed and while cracks in the building were reported, the workers were forced to go in and work. And get themselves killed. We need to do better, this is not ok. Please stop buying things for prices that are too good to believe. Nature and other people are paying full price for us to be able to buy a shirt for a a few bucks and wear it twice.

That sucks about the glass...I've seen the ads, and am tempted by some stuff...but haven't ordered yet. My kids order from Shein all the time, and have had no issues with them.
