Usually, the Make It Snappy {MIS} is done on the first Saturday of the month. I'm going to guess that it will be this Saturday. And @HavaDrPepper gave a great explanation above!
It's a super quick speed scrap, but you start with a template, and there's only 5 instructions.

Thanks for the clarification @HavaDrPepper ! I really love that all the instructions are posted at once! This is going to be fun! Using a template by Liz won't be hard. I own almost all of them already!

@Scrapping with Liz I think that the only person that can edit the title of the first post is the person that created it. Usually there is an edit button and then you have to go into Advanced Options or something like that. I'm not sure if it's different since the upgrade though. Haven't had to do it since then yet. ...actually I just went to an old post of my own and tried to edit the title and I couldn't do it either. Hmmm...

Love the MIS. True story ... the MIS-es are what got me involved in the online digi universe. I was a CM scrapper, happy to use my catalog of Creative Memories digital products. A few scrappy friends ... @LBscraps and @djp332 and some others, started playing around with the SO MIS'es. I remember the day that I found out I "won" one. It was my first and I still have the Captivated Visions kit that I bought with my coupon.

We were all so new to the forums and felt super intimidated. Once or twice we'd even Skype with just ourselves during the MIS because we were nervous. Back then the challenges were hard core one hour deals and between ourselves (never on the forum to embarrass ourselves) we'd show our layout and say ... "here's my Make-it-Crappy" because sometimes it felt like we'd just vomit embellishments all over our page!! This was before I learned how to cluster!!!!

Anyway ... I have fond memories of MIS challenges. It used to be like a standing date in my life. I'd rush home from carpool/gymnastics/scouts/ or whatever to get on my computer and make a page in an hour. I had a system. I had my content in iPhoto and everything was keyworded. If the directions asked for 3 red buttons ... BOOM. I had them. Alas, my "catalog" has grown way beyond practically being able to accomplish this.

I was using Liz's templates even before I could. I would scrap lift them and then we would try to convert the .pngs to the CM versions. (Thank goodness for the rise of the .Page convertors). I have some layouts in my vacation to China book that were from my first MIS challenges.

I wrote down the time ... hopefully I can be here. Count me in for the twist!!!

What's great out the MIS is that you have 24 hours to complete the layout to get the free template. So, even if you can't participate that night to get entered into with the $$ to my store, you still have extra time to finish the challenge and get the freebie.

Oh My - I went to paint and came back to two pages of messages and confusion! MY APOLOGIES about the title - as you can guess I like to copy the past month to modify for the current month and I missed a change

The silver lining being that by posting you all qualified for the Twist!!! Here are some additional details that I hope clears up any remaining confusion.

Additional Details: The Twist can be many things: extra time, ability to delete/change an instruction, etc. The MIS will start at 7 pm ET, January 2nd, in this thread. I will post the instructions at the top of the thread and at the end of thread at the start of the MIS. For the first part, you will have until 8:15 pm ET to complete the layout using the five (5) instructions plus the Twist (to get the Twist just comment in this thread before 7 pm ET January 2nd; unless specified the comment can be anything - "Hi!" works). All those that complete the layout and post by 8:15 ET (75 minutes later) will be entered into a random drawing for $5 to Liz's store. For the second part, same instructions but you will have 24 hrs to complete the layout and post in this thread. For all participants that complete a layout in the first or second half they will receive the free template. If you are new to posting layouts at TLP, please give your self extra time to do so. If you have trouble posting in the TLP Gallery or your layout doesn't meet Gallery criteria, you can post your layout in the Scrapping with Liz Facebook Group by the deadline to qualify.

I will be monitoring the thread for the full 75 minutes to answer any questions. Once the instructions are posted I think it will become even more clear. Lets learn together - you can learn the MIS and I can learn the forum and gallery!

I didn't know what MIS stood for until I read the whole post. Is it like a Speed Scrap with a template? I don't scrap until after the instructions? And the instructions will be given on the 5th? Is this right? Will it be a chat like a SS? Or just in the forum? #questionsmuch

I think this is like a version of a TLP speed scrap. Looks like there will be a chat at 7:00 pm EST tomorrow and it looks like there will be 5 instructions handed out and you make a page from those instructions within a time limit then you get the free template shown above! I'm looking forward to playing along!

I actually remembered what MIS stood for even though it's been ages since I've been to SO. IIRC, if you post here before it starts, then you have more options or something. Like, they'll say "if you posted for the twist you can skip a step" or something like that? But yeah, it's like a combo speed/slow scrap, where the speedy people might win a coupon and the slow people still get a free template.
