The Template MIS (Make-It-Snappy) with a Twist
(to participate in the TWIST just comment in this thread before the MIS starts and then complete the MIS, easy peasy!)

Special Notice: Because the template is your choice, the only way I will know if you participated is if you link your layout in this thread or within the Facebook Album. To qualify, post your layout to the gallery or hosting site of your choice* and then paste the image and link here by 8:15 pm ET tonight to qualify for the drawing and by 7:00 pm ET tomorrow (03 JAN 2016) to qualify for the free template.

Instructions

You can use any Scrapping with Liz's Template of your choice. You can make your layout yours and design as you like, as long as, you follow the instructions below. Don't forget to shadow and date. The sample layout is created using the instructions below and serves as an excellent example.

1. Have at least one star.
2. Have at least two photos.
3. Have at least three shades of blue.
4. Have at least four pattern papers.
5. Have at least five words of journaling (excluding titles and dates).

The Twist

If you participated in the Twist you have an extra 10 minutes to complete your layout (8:25 pm ET part one; 7:10 pm ET part two).

*Posting Notice: To upload your layout into the TLP gallery it must contain 50% products from current TLP designers.



What is Liz's MIS: Liz's Template MIS is a twist on the favorite. You can use any Liz template that you own; you pick your favorite template (you get all instructions at once so you can review the instructions before you pick your template!) Everyone that completes a layout and posts in this thread within 24 hours will receive a new, never released template for free. Complete you layout within the 75 minute time limit and you will be entered to win a coupon to Liz's store!!!

If you have been meaning to try a traditional Make It Snappy! but didn't have the two hours to give -- try this awesome format, its only 75 minutes long and you still get the full hour plus to complete your layout! Don't think you can complete 7 instructions in 75 minutes??? That's okay, this MIS only has 5!

Don't own a Liz template yet? Well its easy, you can pick up some Liz templates for free!! Look for freebies in Liz's Facebook Group [link] or Liz's Blog.

The MIS will be hosted in this thread.

Additional Details: The Twist can be many things: extra time, ability to delete/change an instruction, etc. The MIS will start at 7 pm ET, January 2nd, in this thread. I will post the instructions at the top of the thread and at the end of thread at the start of the MIS. For the first part, you will have until 8:15 pm ET to complete the layout using the five (5) instructions plus the Twist (to get the Twist just comment in this thread before 7 pm ET January 2nd; unless specified the comment can be anything - "Hi!" works). All those that complete the layout and post by 8:15 ET (75 minutes later) will be entered into a random drawing for $5 to Liz's store. For the second part, same instructions but you will have 24 hrs to complete the layout and post in this thread. For all participants that complete a layout in the first or second half they will receive the free template. If you are new to posting layouts at TLP, please give your self extra time to do so. If you have trouble posting in the TLP Gallery or your layout doesn't meet Gallery criteria, you can post your layout in the Scrapping with Liz Facebook Group by the deadline to qualify.

? the twist ? can you splain to me? wait I reread...I comment here, then go scrap a page...and post it in gallery, then post it here and then a new template is supplied to make another.? I am slow, but once I get it, I will be good..kinda...

Sounds like fun, but now (after Anne's post), I'm confused :giggle

I didn't know what MIS stood for until I read the whole post. Is it like a Speed Scrap with a template? I don't scrap until after the instructions? And the instructions will be given on the 5th? Is this right? Will it be a chat like a SS? Or just in the forum? #questionsmuch

Love learning new things. I'm in... once I figure it out. Sounds like awesome fun!
 
I think this is like a version of a TLP speed scrap. Looks like there will be a chat at 7:00 pm EST tomorrow and it looks like there will be 5 instructions handed out and you make a page from those instructions within a time limit then you get the free template shown above! I'm looking forward to playing along! :)

I assumed she meant January 5th, but you are saying tomorrow, 2nd?

And what is the twist that @~Mary never uses?

Wait, it's tomorrow? I thought it was the 5th too.

I actually remembered what MIS stood for even though it's been ages since I've been to SO. IIRC, if you post here before it starts, then you have more options or something. Like, they'll say "if you posted for the twist you can skip a step" or something like that? But yeah, it's like a combo speed/slow scrap, where the speedy people might win a coupon and the slow people still get a free template.

Oh and I re-read the original post again and it says it'll be hosted in this thread... not in a chat. Fun little changes to what we are used to! Keep us on our toes.
 
It is really simple.

At 7:00 p.m. on Jan 2, @tpbuffy will post 5 instructions in this thread. There will be a twist but we never know what it will be until she posts the instructions. In the past, it could have been to change any 1 instruction we choose or even delete one of the instructions. The instructions are all posted at once so you can choose a template to use once you see all the instructions.

If you finish the layout within 75 minutes (8:15), you are entered into a drawing for the $5 gift certificate to Liz's store. Otherwise you have until 7:00 p.m. Sunday night to get a layout done. All who finish and post a layout will receive the free template shown in the original post.

We can chat but it does take place in the thread... not a chat room (at least it has been this way in the past).

I scoured the blog and Liz's intro post in the forum to try to understand MIS. And the title of the thread and add don't match... causing more confusion. Lol
 
Liz's MIS are a lot of fun. There are free SWL templates out there - there is one in her newsletter - and you will need a Liz template. You post here kind of like an RSVP, before the challenge. Usually the challenge is in a different thread, where Tracy posts the instructions. You chit-chat, ask questions, and scrap, then post your layout in the gallery and that thread. If you finish in the time limit you get entered into a drawing but everybody wins if posted by the later deadline by getting another free template!
