National Tell An Old Joke Day
Dig out and dust off your favourite old jokes, from Knock-Knocks to the age-old question of why the chicken crossed the road. Be prepared for groans.

I'm thinking about some of the jokes we've enjoyed as a family, and am remembering one of my son's first Lego Robots - Vernie - My son programmed him to do some stand up comedy jokes. It was so cool, and really made me smile.

My son's first joke was:
Why did the tomato turn red?
Answer (highlight): Cause he saw the Ranch dressing!

We cracked up. It was unexpected.

I've been saying this to everyone lately because I have a kid who does it to me all the time.
When someone says, "What's up?"
I answer, "The sky!"

Reminds me of the old tomato joke. (Two tomatoes was out walking. One got hit by a car, and the other said: "Hey, catch up!") It was my favorite joke when I was a kid. Of course, I only heard the Swedish version. I thought it was hilarious that the tomato turned into ketchup, and that the other tomato thought he could walk away.

I was like 25 years old, when I took a class at uni about jokes, that I realized that the English original joke has a brilliant pun, which is totally lost in translation.

It's really interesting how jokes travel the world like this.
