Do you ever get frustrated with technology? Do you live with someone who is technologically challenged? Or are you the one in the house who needs to have a tech support person on speed dial? Do you get frustrated with only some forms of technology, or is it all good with you?

Normally, I'm pretty comfortable with technology, computer software, hooking things up, etc., and my hubby is the one who is challenged as far as even the simplest technology (*cough cough* remote control *cough cough*). My DD and I joke about how the poor IT people at his office must draw straws when someone has to take his calls. But lately, technology has not been *my* friend. We have trouble with our wifi all of the time. And my desktop computer is dying a very slow and painful death. I've been using my laptop, but like I said, wifi is giving us fits, and the processing/memory isn't up to what I had on the desktop. So yesterday, it took me over FOUR hours to get one simple art journal page uploaded to send for a deadline I had to meet. Seriously. This is why I digi scrap. I was almost in tears after all of that. I had to go back and forth between the scanner, the desktop, the laptop, my camera, and deal with memory/hard drive issues and eventually submit something that probably wasn't the correct resolution.

I don't know what I did to upset the technology gods, but it must have been a doozy because nothing is working for me this week.

What do you hybrid ladies do to be so successful? Does anyone else have this sort of trouble?

sorry..

I have become my folks, with technology

my wifi fix, have a wire running thru a bedroom and across the familyroom :)

My husband and I are both tech geeks who work[ed] in IT. My brothers work in IT and my dad was a computer engineer.
And then there's my mom...

:giggle Lorry! I love that. My hubby and I are both pretty tech savvy. I used to be more so, but he loves to do all the wi-fi and computer stuff, so I've let him handle all that stuff over the last many years and I feel like I'm falling behind. It is nice when the boys have something go wrong with their computers to say... "Go ask your Dad" :)

Lorry - that could totally be my Mom! She can't even remember her password. I keep them! Yesterday, she learned how to press the "triangle" to watch a video in her text message. lol! She can play games fine, though. Go figure. :P

I'm good with software/programs, and pretty good at figuring out tech problems. I will try to fix myself. At work, sometimes I must have IT penciled on my head - get people up and running, or software/connection glitches. When the big stuff happens, we call the real IT! YAY!

DH is ok. He can set up wi-fi, cable boxes and wiring stuff. Since he knows that, I don't have to. lol! He's def more house/TV tech stuff... while I'm more gadget and computer.

My dad works in the computer world so we literally grew up with them. I just posted a layout about (possibly) my first computer printout, I think I was 4? So yeah, I know my way around.
Last Tuesday night I actually started teaching "computer" at the eveningschool at our school. The eveningschool is for mildly mentally handicapped adults along with others who are wanting to learn. This is not as easy as it sounds! Simple things like logging in by entering your username and password and then pressing enter is such a logical thing for us to do. Tuesday there was a woman who didn't know this and was happily waiting for me to come and check and help. She didn't ask me or seek out my attention so when I finally came to her I saw that she had entered her info and was still waiting. Then I thought "if this is the level of knowledge then 1) I am a master at this thing, 2) I have to keep it very simple and step by step and 3) this is going to be testing my patience.. A lot!".
