Wow, I can't believe another year has ended and with that, I've begun to thinkg about taxes! As a Canadian, I don't have a deadline to submit my tax info to Canada Customs and Revenue until April 30th, but I'm already thinking I should spoil myself somehow with a little something:happydance... the question is what?

Do you have a 'wish list' that you plan to spoil yourself when your tax refund comes in?

I think we'll be using ours to pay off a bit of debt. We don't have much, but it sure would be nice to be totally debt free!

we will pay off our three little credit cards and then get a dishwasher and hopefully a couch. After than I am definitely forming a list of what I want for myself ha!

Well, I am hoping I get a refund.. if not, I will just cry..lol!

We set our W-2s up so that we always get a refund, then we used to use that money for something extra and fun. Since the kids started school though, and since they go to private school with tuition, we use it to pay the full years tuition up front so we don't have to worry about it month to month. There's usually some left over, but I think it's going into savings this year. Isn't that boring? :)

Refund? What refund? *sigh*

yes...this is us as well.... where is the dislike button???

Believe it or not, refunds aren't really what you want (although it's much nicer then having to pay). It's essentially an interest free loan to Uncle Sam (for those in the US) but to be fair we certainly need it.

this year we will be 1) paying off what debt we have, 2) Saving for annual expenditures, like Christmas, Homeowners Insurance, Auto Insurance, etc.

after that, we'll see what's left. I refuse to make mental plans for money I may or may not have. Don't want to get my mind set on something that doesn't happen.

My husband owns his own business, so no refund for us. In fact, we get to write a big fat check to the IRS. :(

we always set ours up to guarantee a refund as well. We had to pay one year and it was so depressing that I made sure that never happened again!

I will either get a teeny tiny lil refund or I'll break even. I was self-employed for 2/3 of the year and then employed Oct-Dec.

DH owns his own business as well, so definitely no refund there. Just a nice fat cheque made out to Revenue Canada. *yawn*

We get a refund, but not until September or October because DH's company is international, and there are complications with that.

This is what my dad (who is tax/accounting/financial services guy) says too!

Our boys are in private school too, so that is most likely what ours will be going for.
I, of course, would like a new lens and fun camera bag. Other than that, we would love to be saving for a trip to France next year.

We will be paying out a nice big chunk this year ... but it's been planned for and is expected (dh owns his own business). I hate tax season. It always makes me nervous. Always.

Refund? What refund? *sigh*

LOL!!! Yep...my thoughts exactly! I'm going to be crying when I write my check!

Actually, I should say that I might get a small refund from the IRS, but it's the California State Tax that we'll owe a big fat chunk to. We'll still end up owing a lot. :(

We'll get a nice refund, but won't be spending it at this point because my DH is being downsized in a couple of months and he doesn't have a new job lined up yet. It makes me kind of sick to my stomach, but at least the refund will hold us over for probably 4-6 months combined with unemployment if he doesn't find something. The good news is that he thought his job was over at the end of January, but they stretched it a bit, so he has a little more time.

I'm hoping he will find something soon, and then we'll probably put the $$ toward an extension on our kitchen. We have the smallest most useless kitchen in the world. We're going to get a bid on what it would cost to frame out and plumb an extension and then we can do all of the rest of it. It will definitely be more than our tax refund, but at least we'd have a good chunk toward it.

this is the first year I don't actually have my tax refund spent already, isn't that fun??? I will probably just pay off some debt though, how boring :) but by September of this year, the only thing we will owe money for is our house; everything else is paid off and I'm super stoked about that! then the fun money REALLY begins!
