Talk or Text | pad patter 9.8.17

Text...and only text...or email/FB messenger. 99% of the time my phones ringer is turned off.

I'm socially awkward. I don't like people listening to my conversations; I have nothing to hide, but I don't want to hear anyone else's phone calls so... I live in the AFB flight zone AND have Sprint so reception is horrible. It's easier to get off the message than off the phone.

I will talk on the phone, but would much rather text. I have to make lots of phone calls at work, but I'm the first to say "can we exchange emails instead?" I despise playing phone tag. It's not that I necessarily don't like to talk but more of I just have eleventy billion things going on all the time and would much rather answer when I have a second, or just tell you something really quickly. I have a really hard time focusing when I'm talking to someone on the phone. My mom likes phone calls, so I've gotten so I call her on my way home from work (I have a 35-40 min. commute and love the bluetooth in my car). That way I don't have to worry about finding another spare minute in the evening.

, I only answer the phone if I know who is calling as we still get lots of telemarketing and annoying phishing calls.
This. Right here!

I would much rather text than talk. Except my mom. I'll call her. But anyone else I'd rather text. Me and my mom friends have a never ending group text. We can toss in whatever and not worry about the kids yelling in the background or having to repeat the story 3 times. And it's great for sharing our day or a concern.

I think I worked too many inbound call center jobs to like phone calls.

I used to spend hours talking on the phone with friends when I had a less busy schedule and could relax and enjoy a good conversation, not even noticing that an hour or so would go by. Nowadays, life is too busy or if I'm having some "me" time, I don't want to spend it on the phone. So now I prefer texting which has the advantage of being quick and easy, I can do it anywhere I go b/c I always have my phone with me and its great for passing on quick little bits of info, like when I'm out shopping, I can text my daughter about a sale and send a pic to her. My hubs hates texting and aside from having to do it for work stuff, he will call me rather than text. I text with Bailey a lot but she'll call me once a week or so to catch me up on her day-to-day life but our chats are usually only about 5-10 minutes.

I also chat a lot on Messenger too.

THIS!!!!!

The only people I talk to regularly on the phone are my parents... every MWF at 8:00am! :-)

Other than that, it's text or in person conversation. My husband will call me when he's in the car (or a car... like a taxi when he's traveling). My kids rarely call.... it panics me when they do because it is so rare that it happens. My kids actually have no clue about phone etiquette. My daughter will call and say "hello" first and it throws me off! She knows you're supposed to say hello but doesn't know when to say it... lol!

I looove long phone conversations. But 99% of the convos are text now. Now that my DD is away at college and homesick, I am talking to her a lot on the phone. Most days, I leave work, plug in my head set and chat away with her as I inch my way home through traffic. It's super nice since the car was were we had so many conversations over the years. It's kind of perfect that I get to sit in fwy traffic and chat.

I get anxious about making phone calls or receiving one that I was unaware was going to happen. I can compose my thoughts and write them out in a text/email and sound somewhat intelligent (at least I hope I do).
This is me. The lengths I've gone to at work to avoid having to make a phone call...the odd thing was that in my teens and into my twenties, I could (and did) spend HOURS on the phone to friends. My folks and my hubby are now the only people I talk to regularly on the phone; everyone else, I text.

Talk in person, then talk on the phone.
Texting is for getting information across~ in my mind. I will set the phone down after the 3rd or 4th message from the same person. It overwhelms me.

my phone is in another room....and I don't answer it usually. I forget to bring it, and don't talk on it or text unless absolutely necessary. I will email my hubby from my computer before texting. bhahha
