Does anybody create pages on their tablet. I have an iPad Air 128 which is a pretty hefty tablet, and I've tried PSExpress, PS touch, Photo Collage and a few others too useless to mention. Even when I manage to get my great LilyPad stash available to the program, I can't seem to get anywhere, even to create a simple layout. Any ideas? I would love to be able to create even simple pages I could cleanup on my laptop later, say in airports, in evenings while hubby watches TV.... Is this wishful thinking?
I haven't tried in awhile, but awhile ago I tried some of those same options and just got too frustrated. One promising thing you could try is to remotely access your PC or laptop from your tablet with something like TeamViewer. It's an app that lets you connect to your home computer and you can control that computer from your tablet. So, all of your programs and supplies are at home, but you're basically moving the mouse with your tablet. I tried it and it worked well, except that I run with two monitors and that screwed it up... when my cursor went off to the second screen I got lost and seems like it wouldn't come back. Otherwise it was pretty darn cool!
I didn't know that existed. Sounds like it could be promising. Is there something to set up on both sides? Computer and tablet? I could definitely shut off the 2nd monitor before I go... Thanks.
Yep. You install the app on your tablet and then download the program on your home PC too. If you also use two monitors, just switch to single monitor mode before you go. Just turning it off wouldn't work. I was too lazy to do that, and never traveled enough to need it. If i traveled at all though, it was a super slick set up. And it's free! (or it was).
I tried TeamViewer way back when, and didn't like it... it was ages ago. I might have to give it a whirl again. I have Pixelmator on my computer as a back up to PS, lol... but I didn't know they had it for the ipad! I'll check that out!
Another remote desktop is Log Me In. We used it at work back in the day - not sure if it's free or paid, but it worked great for us.
Haven't tried tablet scrapping yet, but isn't there something with the Photoshop CC that allows you to use photoshop on a tablet and scrap? Does sound intriguing, but I still think I would mostly use my laptop since I am so used to it and I still sit right in the living room and can scrap or hang out on it while watching tv.
I know I posted something about scrapping "mobile". No idea where! Lol I have a host of apps on my phone and tablet that I've tried. The best so far is Photo Grid, because I can do paper or elements. However, the elements have a not-fully-transparent background that I don't like. :/ basically, it takes me just as much time to scrap on my phone or tablet that it does to scrap on my laptop or computer, and i don't like the pages as much.... so I have basically stopped.
