We just got cable again after using just Netflix and Hulu for a year, but without the promotional discount on our internet, it was going to be about $7/mo to add cable and DVR again. So, we canceled Hulu and are breaking even and I have to say that it is nice to have it again, but so far my summer TV schedule is a bit sad.

Any summer shows that I need to be recording?

I already watch Masterchef, Graceland and Suits and Covert Affairs (on USA), and 24.
 
Derek on Netflix. Oh man... that show is a tearjerker, but I love it. I don't think I have any favorite summer shows on cable at this point, so I guess I'll watch and see what I can find. :)

I do like John Oliver's weekly show. And I heard there is a great new series coming up on HBO starting June 29th called The Leftovers.

I am in love with Longmire, but I was raised on watch John Wayne westerns with my dad. Also I started watching Murder in the First, this one might be good, will have to see.
 
i thought covert affairs was cancelled. is it still on this season? if so, have i missed episodes already?

we don't watch much in the summer. deadliest catch until it finishes up. 24. the bridge on fx, but i haven't seen that start up yet.
 
We watch So You Think You Can Dance, Rookie Blue (starts on Thursday), and Deadliest Catch. And Duck Dynasty. My husband and kids watch America's Got Talent. There's not a lot to choose from in the summer.

We love Longmire! My dad is a huge John Wayne fan too...and his favorite beer is Rainier. It cracks me up when I see it on the show.

I love Rizzoli and Isles (the new season for that starts tonight), Mistresses, Devious Maids and Witches of East End...I apparently like my summer TV brain free and drama filled :p
 
What I've watched on Netflix and loved:

Weeds
Breaking Bad
Damages <--- That Glenn Close is amazing, and the girl who plays the wife on the movie Neighbors is in it too
American Horror Story <--- looking forward to the next season!
LOST <--- currently watching with my daughter, Saige... why didn't I watch this sooner? So good!!
House of Cards <--- ANYONE know when the next season will be out???

As for cable, I can tell you I don't watch as much accept the news and certain movies. I love Netflix. :)

This is one of my favorite shows of all time. Lost, Friends, and Friday Night Lights. :)
 
I think summer TV is a bit sad too. For Food Network and HGTV, we're watching Flip or Flop, Next Food Network Star, Property Brothers, Brother vs. Brother. Yes, I have a reality TV addiction.

I love, love, love AHS! Cannot wait until it returns! I like the Netflix series Hemlock Grove. I've also watched all the old Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Bob's Burgers, Archer, True Blood, The Guild, Haven, and Sons of Anarchy on Netflix. I also like Justified, Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley and True Detective. I still need to catch up on Once Upon a Time and Portlandia.
 
We love The Bridge too! I think it's starting up soon.. We also watch a few sci-if shows, Falling Skies and Defiance. I like Rizzoli & Isle. We still have The Americans episodes to catch up on too.

I have a question about Netflix...worth it, or not?!?
 
Kathryn - I was just going to ask if I was the only one who watched BB. I can't wait for the new season to start. Right now I'm watching Graceland, Mistresses, Night Shift, Continuum and I'm waiting for Falling Skies to start up again.

We go in spurts. We get it, watch everything that looks interesting, then when we start saying "there's nothing to watch" we cancel it for a few months. Since there's no commitment, and the price hasn't changed, it's been working for us.
We love watching old shows that we missed the seasons on, but we've been doing more Amazon prime videos lately (under the dome, which I'm enjoying so far).
 
As for cable: (disclaimer I usually watch late at night out while scrapping and only listening)

Mystery diners (only because I always think really? How did you not know you'd get caught?)

The daily show with John Stewart
Apparently, I like food during the summer.
 
Courtney, I have several scrapping shows that I like to 'listen' to as well :)
 
I loooooooooooove 'Undateable' on NBC. The dorky MC is exactly what I would be like if I were a dude. :giggle
