So we have a "Beach Bucket List" each summer (started last year ;) ) of things to do this summer while the kids are out of school. Since that is just 13 days from now, I guess it's time to fill the bucket with fun ideas!

I would love to hear your ideas for summer adventures - things you do, you did, or you want to do!

So far, these are the items I know I want to add:
- go to Fernandina (beach) and look for shark's teeth
- go to the Jeremy Camp concert
- ds learn to swim
- go camping in the mountains
- dd go to summer camp
. . .

I asked DD this weekend what she wanted to add and she told me that she didn't think we did anything from ours last summer :peekin I know we did some things - but I am planning to do better this summer!

We want to go to the zoo, the beach - a little lake here in northern Utah, and a family amusement park to the south of us.. Of course we always make it to the fair, and I'm bound and determined to get tickets to the demolition derby in my hometown. :giggle.. I'll have to ask the boys what they want to do, too..

Previous years we have done the following:

Museums
Theme park
Fun fair
Swimming
Bowling
Beach
Sightseeing (We live 10 miles or so from London)
Farm
Cinema

I keep meaning to visit the zoo!
Maybe this year??

We haven't been to the zoo in a long time, so we definitely need to do that this summer.
I just can't wait to get into a pool!

Last year in london I visited this great ship (old..from the world war if I remember well). It was amazing, with the veterans that explains everything, even how to use the morse code. It was so fun!! ^__^

beach is always at the top of the list
bowling
aquarium
park/picnics
pool/water park
a movie - if there is a good kids movie
family vacation (usually with extended family)
water balloons in the backyard
slip n slide

We will (hopefully ) be:
Going to the aquarium
Going to the zoo
Going to the cheap movie (already on video, but only $1)
Movie night in the backyard with a projector. (replaces the drive in, since it's a hike !)
Hike to timpanogos cave
Swimming
Water balloon fight
Sleep out on the trampoline
Camping
Getting dirty
Having fun.

It would be nice to go canoeing but that depends on the dd No 1 who is not a great fan of anything at the moment (Bah-humbug, teenagers, rolleyes)
would be great to do smaller trips to the Alps, lakes or around the area just the two of us on the dh's scooter, while both girls are away camping with scouts,
find somebody to look after the girls so that we could do our annual crossing of the lake *not quite hand in hand, as dh has been known to arrive half an hour earlier ;) than me, but I am proud I can swim 2,5 km at all
go often to the open pool in the village, and at least once to the pool up north from us, so that the kids could do the slides, and it's got the most spectacular view across the lake
go marmot spotting, and for long walks in general
take oodles of pictures of the family, and make spectacular memories
visit animal park after the owls and wolves have their babies
maybe visit Grandparents in UK, keeping fingers crossed...

Civil war reenactment
vintage baseball
a picnic
a long hike
farmer market at least once
rummage sales!
Beach in my hometown
several day trips
museum
bus and shop with my son
visit my middle sons new apt!
Hopefully visit my daughter and grandkids in their own apt ( at our place now)
Find some gravestones for others ( im a volunteer for the find a grave project)

We have a pool this year and lots of tumbling classes for my oldest so I think the majority of the summer will be spent in out backyard!

garage saling, the zoo, the splash pad, eating at a food truck and the state fair are always on our list as well

Oh.. how could I forget about the farmer's market?!? I think ours starts this Saturday, actually.. YAY!! :) Last year we also did a fun thing with our oldest who is now 6.. The movie theater did 12 weeks of matinees for $12 and DH and I took turns going on "dates" with the bug.. It was nice to spend some one-on-one time with him, and the best part - it was air conditioned! LOL..

Oh fun - Timp is just over the mountain from where I grew up! We haven't been since I was 5 or 6.. how fun, though! Maybe we should try that this year, too.. :)

Let's see. Here is a list of things we usually do:

camping
go to beach
bike ride to ice cream shop
outdoor movie (we are doing this in a tent this year so the bugs don't get us)
geocaching
tie dying t-shirts
lemonade stand
race scooters around the block
catch fireflies

What if you make a scrap page or a physical list and hang it on your fridge. I made this one a few years ago and my boys loved looking at it for idea. :) We didn't do all of it but it was still fun to look at and see everything we had done. :)

HMS Belfast? On the river Thames?

I hope to visit that with Ty when he is a little older and take it all in! I have photos of it from the river bank but haven't been on it xx

We do this, too! I told Luke today that we should start on it b/c our summer is going to be shoooooooort! The first (and only) thing he's thought of so far is to make a claymation video on his iPad. :)

It's so hot here in the summer. Outside is NO FUN. Trying to think of fun things we can do inside. Dollar movies, bowling, library reading club...I'll have to think about it some. I'm jealous of all y'all who can go out without melting into a puddle of goo!

We do a lot of pick your own farm things which we make into a day trip/family time - june is strawberries, july is blueberries & sunflowers, august is raspberries & i learned of a place that has pick your own grapes (then sept is apples, oct is pumpkins & nov is the christmas tree. :)

I am going to attempt to have an activity schedule this summer: Make Something Monday (crafts), Teaching Tuesday (trip to the library + kindergarten readiness worksheets), What's Cookin' Wednesday, Be Thoughtful Thursday (service projects), & Field Trip Friday. I want to be sure I don't get sucked into the newborn vortex of being a hermit all the time and really enjoy my last summer with DD before she starts school fulltime.

I *love* to plan ahead, so I already have ideas and supply lists for EASY and inexpensive things to do to fit those themes.

My Field Trip Friday list, which I think is the 'bucket list' you're looking for, includes backyard camping/stargazing, picnic at the park, trip to the beach/lake, spray park, zoo, mini golf, bowling, minor league baseball game, pick-your-own fruit/veggies, family bike ride/hike, drive-in movie theater, trip to Grandma's & Grandpa's, children's museum, & the state fair.
