SO commutes to work every week, and it looks like he's not coming home this weekend due to the volcano in Iceland. All air traffic in Norway has been cancelled, and they are almost sure it will be cancelled tomorrow too, probably all weekend:(

And they are saying if the vulcano keeps erupting it could go on for weeks:groan

All the trains are full, he could maybe get on a bus, but if his flight back on monday is cancelled he would need to spend 10 hours each way on the bus, and only have saturday at home.

I was just reading about this. DH is supposed to be flying to Brussels Saturday and now I am wondering if that will get postponed, which isn't a bad thing for us. I would love to have him around a little longer...
 
Oh my goodness! I can't imagine.....delayed home due to a volcano. :firey

I can't imagine it too! A couple of years ago I read and heard a lot of exciting things about Iceland, and now they are in a big crisis and this volcano!

That is sad, but volcano reminds me the volcano dessert in Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney. So yummy!

I am sorry for him. I've read something about delays in Sweden too.
 
Ugh!!! I just saw this on the news this morning, that must be SO frustrating for you!!! I'm sorry sweetie! :(
 
They have just confirmed no flights tomorrow, and probably not on Saturday.

I'm OK, but I feel for all the people who live far from the hospital and won't be able to use the air ambulances to get to hospitals. They said they usually do 50 flights every day, and that 35 of those are life or death situations. Luckily we don't need those.
 
oh i`m so sorry... my husband stuck in bangkok last year for 3 weeks (instead of one) because of the demonstrations... it was horrible!

It's a pain when these things happened. We once had my bil visiting from Alaska, and everytime we tried to send him home, the volcano up there would erupt, and he couldn't fly home! LOL! We had to have him for an extra week (doggone it)!

I hope he gets home quickly though! This is affecting a lot of people!
 
ooooh now you'v got me all excited!! I love volcanoes!! So sorry for you though Kristine and I hope the flights start again soon. Now off to read about the volcano!
 
The news and the weather channel are really stressing concern. This affects all flights from the U.S. to Europe. WOW! Hope you all are staying safe in Iceland. What a beautiful country.
 
Oh that stinks, sorry he can't make it home. I've been watching some of the volcano coverage on the news. Crazy how many airports are being impacted!
 
It is really strange. They are saying that if the volcano keeps erupting, it could go on for ages. Last time that volcano erupted it lasted on and off for 1 1/2 years. If the same thing happens now, they will have to close the airspace every time the wind blows towards Norway from Iceland, which would be a nightmare! There's also a larger volcano that they are worried might erupt, in which case we can forget about a warm summer apperantly.

Oh well, at least we have lots to do this weekend, so no time to miss SO;) And I get to scrap in the evenings!
