St. Patty's Day Mischief? I've decided to go all out this year for St. Patty's Day leprechaun mischief. We normally go to the local parade but in the last few years it has drifted away from being G-rated, so we're skipping it. So, instead, I need to come up with some super fun tricks to play on my kids. Ideas?
We have a sneaky little leprechaun named Lucky who always turns our milk green and the toilet water green The kids think that's hilarious. He also sometimes leaves gold treats (rolos) and I think this year he might bring some Lucky Charms for breakfast (which would be a huge treat at our house).
The leprechauns in this house always put a few drops of green food coloring into the toilet tank, then when they flush for the first time in the morning, the water comes back green. They usually get into the toilet paper and stream it around the house. . . get out the flour on the counter top and turn the milk green. I pack their entire lunch with green items, including the bread (plan ahead and get it at your local bakery). Have fun!
ooh you lot have some great ideas,we never do anything over here like that i think the uk are missing out
Ours has turned the milk green, turned the eggs green when they were cooked, made the toilet water green, turned all the furniture upside down in the playroom and dining room, hung stuffed animals from the blinds and put little hats and beards on the family pics around the house.
So fun! I've never done any pranks on St. Patty's but I might this year. I love the idea of drops of green in the tank to make the next flush turn green.... but then my boys would actually have to flush. sigh.
we don't do any pranks around here. we just do decorated donuts as a special treat. hopefully i can find them here, since this is our first st. patty's day in indiana.
We've never done any of that but I'm thinking this year I could pull it off and have some fun with DH & DS....especially the Green Toilet water as they would think something is wrong. Bwahahahaha
I guess St Patty's tricks aren't big around here because I've never heard of anyone playing tricks... but it does sounds like fun! I'll be away for a girls only weekend. I should tell my husband to change the toilet water!
LOL! These are seriously fun ideas, ladies. I would have never thought to do any of them, but now I just might have to.
Any suggestions for food for St. Patrick's Day? We don't normally do the tricks, or anything really, but since it is the first day of spring break, I was thinking of at least trying to do something fun for the boys. I definitely want to make rainbow cupcakes, because they look fun and I have had them on my 'to make' list forever. I was trying to think of green food to have a green dinner before the colorful cupcakes. Any ideas?
For dinner this year I think I'll make corned beef and cabbage, but a rainbow of fruit is always pretty and use whip cream as the clouds so they can dip their fruit into it. I know you could make an entire green dinner too. . . green beans, green salad, broccoli, etc. but I don't think I'll go that route this year. Have fun!
Hee! Fun ideas. Between the Elves and the Leprechauns playing tricks on all of your kids, I hope they don't start to worry! LOL! My kind of St. Patrick's Day mischief is more of green beer kind!
Oh.... We've never done anything before but this sounds like so much fun... I'm not sure I could pull off the green dye in the tank since everyone is good about closing the lid, but it might freak out the next person to do it... Oh, and Mark's birthday is on Thursday so maybe i'll make his cupcakes rainbows these are some really great ideas, keep them coming!!!
