Happy National Spinach Day!

I feel like either you love it or hate it.
Which team are you?
If you like it, how do you eat it?
If you hate it, when’s the last time you tried it?

Ooohhh...I love it!!
I eat spinach all ways, fresh in salads and sandwiches, sauteed on it's own, in soups and sauces, blended in smoothies...if I can add spinach in, I will!!

I do enjoy spinach! I like it how my mum made it. Cooked down with spices and eaten with roti.

I always find it funny, no matter how much spinach you have it always cooks down to nothing! Not matter how large the bunch, end result is a handful of cooked greens!

I don’t think I’ve tried it in soups or sauces…probably because my kids would freak out lol

It really does cook down so much! DH adds a heap to his eggs every morning and I’m always amazed it never overflows the pan lol

I love it. Had some last night. Raw in a salad or cooked with a mushroom sauce. Spinach over kale any day.

Love spinach.. had a spinach and feta egg white omelette and muffin for the last 4 days and have had spinach in my salad daily too!! Love it cooked too!!

I don't mind it but I don't crave it either. Sometimes I'll have it in salads but more often than not it's cooked. We just had some this week in a Tuscan chicken dish. It was yummy!

Which team are you? I love it! But I also understand why the soggy, over-boiled spinach of my childhood has given this vegetable a bad name

If you like it, how do you eat it? Sauteed in olive oil, with a bit of garlic. I also love spinach and ricotta pasta dishes (lasagna, cannelloni), and an Indian curry dish (aloo palak) of spinach and potato. I don't like it raw, unless it's baby spinach.

If you like it, how do you eat it? Any way I can get it!! I love it in salads, sauteed, on pizza, in smoothies...

I don't love it or hate it, but I will join Team Spinach. Of all the greens, it's the one I eat the most and it's usually present in my refrigerator. My consumption of it has gone down as I eat kale more and more, though.
I prefer it cooked and will put it in all kinds of things like chili and other bean dishes, tofu scramble, and veggie burritos.
My goal is to eat a little greens every day, and I have a long history of "hiding" them in my meals to make sure I do.

I like spinach salad but I’m not wild about cooked spinach on its own. That said, I throw it into a lot of other things like pasta sauces, smoothies, soups and other dishes where it isn’t the main event.

I'm in team LOVE IT.

I'll use it as the base of a salad since it's one of the more nutritious greens. I especially like to mix it half and half with arugula. I use it in my morning protein smoothie; as long as I add blackberries or raspberries, I can get in a handful of spinach without making it taste like grass. And then I chop it up or blend it into almost everything else. Soup, tomato sauce, any brown sauce like beef bourguignon, or anything else I can get away with blending it into. I have a child who hates vegetables, so I chop this small or use my blender as a way to get vegetable content down her hatch.

It’s a staple in my fridge. Morning smoothies (not bitter like kale can be), love it sautéed and the scrambled eggs and feta added to it, works good in sandwiches too. Sometimes I’ll add to a soup, or some other warm salad. I don’t care as much for frozen, as I think it cooks soggier than fresh.

Spinach and artichoke dip...yum! I don't mind spinach in an omelette or soup or salad, but I don't go out of my way to incorpoarte it into my diet.

Your omelette sounds delicious!

Yeah I wouldn’t say I crave spinach either lol

I prefer baby spinach too! So much better than the regular raw. I forgot about spinach in Indian food! I love lamb saag.

I'm not the biggest fan because I have texture issues with so many foods. I think the only time I ever managed to eat spinach was when my college roommate's mom would make us 'lightly spinached lasagna'.

My mom's favorite pizza is a Spinoccoli from Pizzeria Uno's: spinach and broccoli with feta and mozzarella cheese. It's been her favorite my whole life and I'm pretty sure I still have an unbaked one in my deep freezer for her. (We pick them up when we're in Orlando, portion them out, and she bakes them in a retired pan from Uno's.)
