I usually head to the forums, and click on "New Posts." Then move down the list opening different tabs. After that, responding, reading and such, I head over to the gallery.
Lately, I'll check out the notifications after I do my responding and reading between the gallery visit. For the gallery, I usually look at pages if someone commented on mine, and return love... then I look for layouts that grab my attention in the thumbnail size. Something usually catches my eye.
this is what I used to do (check comments made in my pages and return love) Now the notifications are a lot broader, as it shows you more than comments in your Los so sometimes my brain scrambles the reading, but I have been getting better at it!

I go straight to the Chatty Pad. I end up missing some stuff because I don't check the Announcement Pad enough. It takes me a lot of courage to participate because I constantly worry people won't like what I have to say. I'm very self-conscious & anxious. After chatting, I go to the gallery. I start from the first page & comment on the pages for as long as I can.

I always was a bit reluctant to post because I am such a different culture, and things not always come out the way I intend ...both because of my brain slowness and my not native English... I also tend to get over emotional and think people cringe....and up to now, I still think sometimes I may sound a bit ridiculous...but I have been received always here with so much love, I got better and better and lost most of my fear of awkwardness!! (oh Jaime's BYOC...I NEED to make a page about this now!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I have no real method, it mostly depends on much time I have. When I work from home, I can sometimes pop in here & there between calls - sometimes I can comment, sometimes not. Where I start just depends on my mood. I feel bad that I often don't have enough time to leave many comments on all the fantastic pages that I see, but I love that I can now at least "like" them, so people know I saw & appreciated their work.
I think in a way, I am glad I don't work...I don;t think I wouylod be able to hold one for long time...as I am so addicted to this place, would never get anything done!!!!
I just pop in when I can and click on the "new posts" and go from there lol! I haven't made it to the gallery much at all lately though!
I need to because I know there is tons of inspiration! There is no method really other than just checking the new posts and my alerts lol
ohh the gallery is amazing indeed!!!!!! I'm loving the fact that we can chat over the LOs comments too...though I end up doing nothing but chat all day LOL I need to catch up with your gallery!!!!
I am no help. I am also terrible at managing my time!
But to answer the question - I just go with what ever I feel at the moment. LOL!

I really don't have a method either. Sometimes I start with new posts, and sometimes I just start at the top and work my way down to see if there is anything I've missed. If I'm really short on time, I just skip to the Chatty Pad to see if there is anything new. Since the upgrade, I do tend to check my alerts first, before doing anything else. I've been trying to spend more time in the gallery since everyone here is so wonderful about leaving comments on my layouts, it's the least I could do to return the favor. It's back to work for me tomorrow after 2 weeks off, so we'll see how I manage my time from here on out hahaha
I think we both fell in love with this place about at the same time.... and the love in the gallery.....
I remember being a bit petrified to come here because there were (are!!) so many amazing scrappers and designers that I felt ...I don't know...small , cant find the right word.
but I am so so very glad so many of us from those earlier times in my scrap life, are all here back again, together oin a community that has so much love...so sometimes I feel I need to give back 100%... maybe that's why I m looking for method...
I always check the new posts tab and then pop into the gallery for a quick peek. I check in the early morning before my work day starts and then later in the afternoon when I get a break. I used to flip back and forth between work and Internet but lately I've been blocking time to work and staying offline which is more productive.
oh Rae...as I mentioned above.....I don't think I would be able to hold a job!!!! LOL
and yes, I can imagine iyt would be difficult for most people, yet your comments in pages (not only mine) are amazing!!!
first thing I do is click on anyone's layout thread for challenges and hit mark forum read and clear them out!
then hit new posts and go thru and see what is happening in LilyPad land.
a quick look at the side bar of status, and comment there if needed or I laugh!
I look at my alerts after that, then I go jump into the gallery and love up as much as I can whilst I enjoy a cup of coffee!
oh another feature! I m gonna look at how to cleared the read stuff...but will still notify me if someone tagged or requires an answer?
also: I have been seeing the comments you left in my pages and reading some you left ion other people...and I am SO, SO very HAPPY to have you back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do new posts and mostly just lurk, lol. I too am always nervous I'll say the wrong thing and sound dumb or worse- rude!
ohhh don't!!!! see what I answered to Jessica above (the first couple of posts I think) I always was pertrified of being a "thread killer" and sometimes yes, the threads stop after I posted...but I also have seen so much love and care...qnd I have made the greatest of friends here...some of them I have met in person too!!!! I'm sure you will be feeling comfy and a member of the family soon...just talk away...if all of us had the same opinion in everything...it would be boring... I also have learned everyday things from all the family here.... I am glad you are posting now!!!!!!
I'm another one for hitting "New Posts" and just going from there. Once I've checked out the threads I am interested in, I head to the gallery. Oh, and I also take a look at my alerts now!
Oh I am loving all this new features, the alerts and being able to chat over the LOs!!!... I have some post its with stuff to do...and one of them is getting to your gallery!!!!!!!
I also mostly just click on New Posts, but sometimes I come aiming for something specific, like the new challenge of the day or the photography forum. I look at the Alerts too and go straight to threads of interest that way too. I comment in the gallery whenever I post a layout myself.

I try always commenting at least in a few Los when I post myself, it may not be straight away after they are posted here as I then go post in 5 or 6 other places, then Facebook which is full of distractions!!! I am loving you here, need to get to your gallery too!!!!

yes.yes. YES to this!!!!! I talk/type a lot... and reading takes me longer but you should be able to interrupt us at any time!!!!! I know we can both be very good listeners...Anne has listened to me for years now and she was key to my espiritual recovery ...so yes, feel free to talk as much as you like, and interrupt us!!!!!
I'm developing my method. I would say I check alerts first, just to make sure I respond if needed. I'm still coming out of overwhelm (not easy in this new place with MOC) so I check out New Posts and scan the threads involved. Then I read what I need to down to what I might have missed.
I think we are most of us (even the oldest around here) a bit still trying to find our way...I know I get a bit overwhelmed still, because there are so many people who were so important 4 or 5 years ago and then we took different path and lost touch ...they being here makes me want to go talk to each and everyone, plus so many people I admired but have never talked to, so many new faces I want to get to know....and most importantly, I don't want to loose the attention on my already loved people.... (you being one of my most recent additions to my chosen family!!!) so that's why I'm trying to find a bit of method....
I feel so loved, I want to give back!!!!
Don't worry too much about saying the wrong thing. We are pretty friendly, and assume the best about people!
I love reading differing viewpoints, it makes for better conversations. If everyone just says "yep" there's no conversation!

I am much the same - the only difference is I don't get into the gallery often enough which I feel guilty about. I always seem to struggle with what to say so now that there is a "like" button I may get in there a little more often

Most of the time I'll just go to the Chatty Pad or the Announcements and start from the top and work my way down...sometimes I just go to the right hand side where the latest posts are listed, sometimes I'll start with alerts and work my way from there...oh yeah, and sometimes, I go to the gallery first...like I said...no method!!

I go to the Gallery first - have a quick scan of the new pages. Don't comment though, I go back to do that once I've read through the forums
I always check out the announcements and chatty pad and if I have more time, I will read through them all. Then I love to read the new updated statuses. Oh and I check out my alerts first to catch up on any threads I need to answer etc. So much going on at the pad now. FABULOUS
