So .. .How Clean is Your House?

I've been trying to make a better effort at keeping my house clean but it's so much work!

How often do you clean - daily, weekly, monthly, yearly?

If I came over right now, would you send me out for a coffee so you could tidy up, have me in immediately because it's already clean, or put me up in a hotel because it would take hours to clean up the house? LOL
 
lol!! I hate cleaning! I tend to do a little of the basics each day and the big stuff only if someone is coming around!

Right at this moment it's not TOO bad as we had an inspection on Monday so I would probably just let you in and excuse the mess...I'm sure you'd understand! :giggle
 
anyone with kids is in constant clean up mode... the mess NEVER goes away... maybe when the kids move out???

I'd invite you in, and tell you not to worry, our dust bunnies don't bite!
 
Yup, I'd understand. Mess doesn't really bother me but dirty does sometimes. One time I went to a friends and the bathroom was so gross I almost had to vomit - so I obviously have a line somewhere and she crossed it. LOL
 
I'm lucky my pc is situated near a window that looks at the driveway, so I would see you coming which would give me a few seconds to run around an pick up a few scattered toys etc :giggle

Each day I usually do the quick whip around and tidy up before DH comes home from work, so it looks like I've been in control all day :whistle

And I do the big clean once a week

Kaye - if you can clean up in the time it takes me to walk up your driveway- you must have one heck of a clean house or one heck of a long driveway. :run
 
that's what I was thinking Tiki! lol I need at least a few hours notice before my house is decent!
 
LOL!!!! It really depends on the day! Right now I would totally have you in! I am expecting company tonight so the house is picked up. But there are some days (since my husband and I have both started back to school) where its just crazy messy!!!! Its kinda insane!!!! Like where in the world does this come from? With both of us working and going to school we have to stay on top of it or else I go INSANE!!!! And on those days I think there is NO WAY I can make it through school if this is the way I have to live. BUT I always clean on the weekends so its never HORRIBLY bad lol!! :)
 
I try to keep it pretty clean but there always seems to be at least a couple of dishes in the sink and even though i swear i vacuum every other day the floors could always use a sweep. But Tiki, my guest bath is always clean. :D

oh you wouldn't be allowed in every room of the house, I need some hiding places for the stuff! :giggle
 
LOL - arghh - i hate cleaning house too! but, i'm a little crazy organized (or at least i WAS before kids!) so i try to at least tidy up the toys/etc each evening, do a load of laundry each day (or every other day) and make the beds. my one thing is that the bathrooms and the kitchen HAVE to be clean - i HATE dirty dishes and a dirty bathroom. my desk is a complete DISASTER though - as are a few of the drawers in my storage area. i do have a cleaning lady once a week - that is a HUGE help - so i just try to concentrate on tidying up and the day to day living clean up (kitchen, making beds, etc) ... and my computer is a HUGE mess ... i haven't organized my pics and scrapping supplies in forever :(
 
i would love love love if my whole entire house was clean on one day. i think that would mean hiring a maid. :luvya

so - at most times i could have you in without freaking out. my only draw back is the humungeous fur dust balls that my husband's german shepherd puts out. gah. i hate the dang fur. :mad

so - a quick vacuum and i'd be good to go most days - i just sorta slow leak cleaning all week long.

I have a German Shepherd too - although I call him the German SHEDDER. The hair is awful. I pretty much have to vacuum every day. However, he's a great dog so I put up with it.

Minus the dog hair, my house stays tidy. Over the years, I've gotten into a schedule for household chores and for the most part it keeps the place running smoothly. That said, the playroom is in the basement and you would definitely have to go for coffee or be prepared to enjoy the fun mess.
 
We clean a lot. John vacuumes every other day, bathrooms are cleaned once a week. The kitchen is wiped up daily, and the stovetop is usually cleaned once a week. We're not clutter people, and we "pick up" constantly. Bed's always made (except maybe on Sunday) and I'm constantly throwing dog toys in the basket. So everyone can come on over!
 
i'm a clean freak.
but i only CLEAN CLEAN once a week.
every monday.
that's doing laundry too.
a pretty deep clean......including wiping baseboards and sometimes washing windows.
then i usually clorox wipe the door knobs, light switches and around the sinks and toilet lids 2 times during the week after that.
usually wednesday and fridays..
fridays are laundry day again.
then the weekend, my house goes to pot.

but i LOVE that i only clean once a week.
then kind of forget about it the rest of the week.
i have to clorox wipe things down
as we always have a house full of kids.
(we are the neighborhood hang out LOL)
which i love.
so i wouldn't dare change a thing!
 
mine is always messy but i do clean it every sat morning but by tuesday you cant tell it has been cleaned recently!! but i have real laundry issues!
 
Mine's a complete mess right now. I still have boxes to unpack from my grandma's and I have been having a serious case of the lazies.
 
OUr house is pretty clean, if you showed up right now i would just have to change because I am wearing jammies LOL. For the house I always keep it clean upstairs where we live. There are a couple toys here and there and a dish or two in the sink but it takes all of 10 mins to clean up
 
Jacque, I totally need to do that. I HATE HATE HATE cleaning - so it just doesn't happen. HAHAHAHAHA But if I dedicated ONE day to it..... maybe. Then again, maybe not. HAHA

If you came over, I'd say come on in but be warned that it's a disaster. LOL
 
hehe Karah - that's kind of like me. I'd say "let's go have tea in the backyard". LOL

You ladies amaze me - tell me that your house is only 500 square feet big so I don't feel so bad having such a messy house. :flirty
