I am very super duper behind on PL. Yesterday I counted back and I was 16 weeks behind. I was home with a sick kiddo (missing his first day of first grade!) so I decided to make time and start back up again.

I decided to do one pagers instead of double page spreads until I get caught up. I was able to do 5 weeks yesterday and I'm feeling good about it!

I also sent 42 pages to Persnickety to be printed. Can't wait to get them back! I think that will really boost my motivation.

5 weeks in one day. Yay for you! I get more behind each week, LOL. My July Vacation is doing me in, hehe. Not that I got behind on vacay, but that I'm paralyzed thinking of scrapping it. (this happens to me with "big" weeks) I have a plan, but just can't seem to sit down and make myself do it.

And you are right, the printed pages will help with motivation for sure! I need to do that. I have through March printed. I need to print the rest to get my booty in gear to keep moving forward!

I'm having the same anxiety about the vacation we took in July. I am really going to have to figure out how to weed through photos for that and picking just a few will be so tough.

Yay for you! I don't do PL pages but try to pick a few photos from every bunch I take and put them into my online storage. I am so behind and if my HD crashes I'm going to be soooo sorry. When I get home from holidays I really need to get back on track with organizing my photos.

You got a lot done! Go you! I am not a PL scrapper. I got to week 2, back in 2012. lol!

Can you add an extra page or two for your vacation week? Like you went down to one page for the past few weeks, maybe add a cople extra pages to fit pictures? Or just have an extra double spread with all pictures?

Good for you in having a plan and following through. Cheering you on in getting caught up!

Well done on getting going and starting to catch up! Wow, 5 weeks in one day.. the advantages of digi PL!

Tali, you're not the only one!! I'll have to count how many weeks I'm behind ... although I probably don't want to know!
Great job getting so many weeks done in one day. That's awesome!
Jen, I get paralyzed by big weeks also. I'm not sure yet how I plan to handle vacation. Originally I planned to create a vacation album. Right now , though, my fear is that it will become just another unfinished project.

Great work with the five pages in one day!

I'm behind too and trying to deal with a big trip. Ours was a road trip where we did big things every single day, so I conceded to doing one page per day. That sounds like a lot of work, but for me, trying to narrow down 500+ photos to a number that was reasonable to have on a two page spread for the week was much more work. I quickly went through and added my photos for each day onto a template, so that much is done already. I just have to go back and add the fun stuff now.

Rebecca... I had the same fear as you. I plan on doing a vacation album just for this trip, but I was afraid that I wouldn't get it done (at least not in a timely manner). With my page a day in my PL book, at least I know all of my favorites from the trip will get seen while I continue to work on the trip album.

Tracie I think that's a great idea! I think including the trip details in PL and then going back later and doing a vacation album if I can find time would be a great solution. At least then we have something to look at to jog our memories for our vacation.

Tali, I counted... I'm 16 weeks behind as well. I do think the past 4 weeks are going to be pretty minimal for PL, as I've been in class, and I have hardly at all thought of taking photos. I've lost my photo-taking-mojo I think. This is typically a problem for me around this time of year anyway, though. Once fall starts in, and we get the leaves and the pumpkins and then the holidays... it's much easier to at least find subject matter to photograph.

you know, in sitting down to look at where I'm at in all of this, I realized it's been months since I've even DL'd or organized / backed up photos. I think I need to do that much before I can even think of doing my next PL page. *sigh*

Just call me the Little Engine That Could....

You can do it Rebecca!!!

I took over 1000 photos on our vacation in July, and about 500 on our vacation a few weeks ago. So overwhelming. I'm going to do a double-pager for each of those and keep it very simple. It's going to take awhile to really pare down the photos I want to use, but I am feeling very motivated!

I tend to put off big weeks as well. I can think of 3 right now just from 2014 that I can't seem to make myself tackle.

When I get behind (like I am now), I try to do 2 things. 1. Work on the current week and 2. Make a list of the weeks/dates so I know exactly what I need to do and so I can mark them off my "to do" list.

Melissa, I just did the list of weeks today... I made a checklist in OneNote so I can check them off as I complete them.

I've finished downloading, renaming, and organizing all of the photos that were straggling. I'm going to let them upload to online backup overnight. Maybe tomorrow sometime I might get a bit of scrapping time to try to knock out a week or 2 (or 5, right Tali?!)

Well, I am a year behind. Well, Feb-Aug anyway. I really do need to sit down with mine.
I do mine by months instead of weeks. So, a pic from say Aug 2 may be on the same page as one from Aug 20. I just make sure to date them where I can. I just found that months work easier for my family. There's only me, hubby and our 17 y old daughter so, I was finding that we weren't able to fill some weeks. We are boring sometimes. Lol

Questio too.....hubby and I just took a vacation and I have like 150 pics from it. It will probably take up at least 5 spreads. Would y'all include that in your PL album? I hate to do a separate album but, I'm not sure how others have handled big, long events and adding it. Even Xmas, there's no way I can fit that on 2 pages. I haven't done last Xmas because again, I have about 150 pics.

Oh duh, sorry, I'm on my phone so I didn't thoroughly read the prior posts.
I LOVE the page a day idea. My Bob Marley mausoleum trip will take more than 1 spread but I think it'll be okay to have it go on longer.....

I just started working my way through adding the fun stuff to my trip pages. So far the page a day thing is going pretty quickly. I'm keeping them super simple though. Days 1-3 are now posted on the July thread.

I'm fully embracing the whatever it takes method in regards to PL this year. Last year every week was one two page spread, no matter how many photos or how few photos I had to work with (except for the rare 4 pagers here and there). This year I'm all over the board... I have at least one 1 page week and several 6+ page weeks. Whatever it takes :-)

I keep falling further and further behind because other things grab my attention. Not to mention I got a 3-11 job, which cuts into my scrapping time big time. I'm short 3 weeks in july and 3 weeks in august. I just keep adding it to my "to do" list. I'm even behind on my events pages.

I just returned from our vacation, so I'm now 10 days behind :hissy:tantrum:circles:cry... I hate being behind, really. But I have put all the pictures into a sensible order already and will now continue with my regular diary while slowly getting caught up with the vacation layouts... that's the plan, at least.
The worst part is that each of those ten days will have several layouts... I couldn't cut the number of pictures any further, so I have to deal with it... but fall is coming and with it more scrapbooking time. HOPE.
