Do you still live in Denver as i see in you avie? I actually live just south of Denver! Try going out at different times in a snow "storm". It really changes throughout...yesterday during the blizzard- i kept checking back as, ya half of the time during it there were boring shapes lol
 
These are stunning. I'm not a huge fan of snow, but I can see how that could quickly change if I was photographing it and getting such awesome results!

I am also south of Denver...I really should keep checking. I usually look when the snow starts falling and then forget to look later (or don't bother). I'm in SE Aurora...near Southlands mall.
 
I love snowflakes too!! I always bend foward and squint and try to make out what shapes they are love love love!!! that you capture them!!! It reminds me of something we did in elem. school. Black sheets of paper out in the cold or freezer and then when the snow falls lay it out side and the flakes wouldn't melt away. I can even remember the magical feeling it gave me, thanks for having me remember :wubb

did you end up getting any shots? I went out a couple times...periods of balls and blah and pretties...:)

couldn't resist a few more from yesterday....still workin on my focus as its pretty crazy difficult!

none yesterday. The other day, this was the best I could do. I like that yours are single and on a flat surface...makes it easier to focus. =) Will keep trying =)

oh yay!!! Im excited you gave it another try! and i can totally see your pretty snowflake in there- no ball! Are you using anything to "capture" them on? I've been just using a sweatshirt and i move it here and there and "squishing it up" to help me get a better view...that said, its hard to as they start melting pretty quickly....what lens are you using?

here's one that started to melt on me lol
