snail mail ?|Pad Patter 1.26.2017

No one really sends any mail that way anymore . . . but I do love ordering packages and having the doorbell ring and/or having them appear in the post. Hubby and son usually check the mail, so I get it hand delivered to me. LOL

My husband is a landlord, so we are always checking the mail for rent checks. Money in the mail is always good. Otherwise it is usually bills and junk mail.

I got a card a few weeks back from a friend, thanking me for a small Christmas gift I gave her. That was nice.

Every year I pledge to send birthday cards to my relatives, but I never do. Oh well.

Go on folks...join me in my quest to get more good mail. I am determined to write more " real " mail this year. To help me I have just made ( digitally,_ using kits,,then printing ) winter warmer cards . Now all I have to do is send them.....tomorrow.lol

I tried writing letters to the friends I left behind when I moved across country, but I didn't get letters back. :(

I love getting snail mail... most of the time it is only bills.. but I love getting packages from friends.. or even letters from my god son in DC! ..my son writes me letters from school too and will mail them once in awhile.. always a pleasent surprise

I love checking my real mail! Usually a lot of it is junk, but I do have some customers who pay via check (yay for getting paid!). Most of our bills are on auto-pay and we get the statements electronically, so the amount of un-fun mail is really pretty small. A few times a year I get awesome packages from Lawn Fawn (a stamp company that I CT for), and then there are always the magical $10 off a $10 purchase coupons from JC Penney. :)

mostly junk here too. at busy times our stack to sort through is so high - i've even photographed it - thinking i'd scrap the story one day. i do love getting my packages from real paper subs for planning/scrapping and i love getting anything from amazon.

I used to love getting snail mail and had a few penpals, but then it got to much to keep up with writing back to everyone. Know all I seem to get via snail mail is junk mail or bills.

Not so much on checking the mailbox...but I love when I hear the FedEx or UPS guy coming up my driveway! LOL.

My kids do snail mail all the time. They mail letters to cousins, grandparents and friends across the country. I have one daughter in particular who LOVES to send mail (she could care less if she gets anything back). @EkaSyr and her even send postcards back and forth.

Love when I get a new travelers notebook via snail mail :)

I could do without all the yucky bills and junk mail.

My munchkin gets on a mail kick and will send stuff out. Luckily, his Grammy will send stuff back!
I used to have penpals in grade school, but now I only send letters to a missionary, and hardly ever remember cards.

I did write down goals for this year to increase the happy mail leaving my house. This week, munchkin and I are making Valentine's cards to send out to anyone who's address we have! So I'm with you @Nemla Happy Mail Unite!

This has reminded me that I was sending a postcard a week to my 10 yr old granddaughter last year. She has a whole wall of them! Shame on me I didn't back in the habit this year. Postcard time!

@cookingmylife
My boys bio grandma sends cards to my Littles, and they absolutely love getting them from her. She always puts in a stick of gum..they smell the envelope first! So fun!

oh no, that is sad! a text or a FB note at the least?

They don't use social media or even email much either. I see a couple of them on FB and we've played some Words With Friends. But we don't keep in close touch.

Speaking of mail... I just got a package delivered from Amazon! Love seeing that little little alert come up on my phone! I ordered Groundhog Day for us to watch tomorrow. My kid's have never seen it, and it was only $5 for the DVD.

I'd rather have real snails.

Um... NOOO!!! EEk! I hate snails. They're so gross. I grew up in Southern California and they were everywhere. You'd walk through the grass barefoot and you'd step on them. Gaah! Step out of the door on a cloudy morning and they're all over the front walk.

Then one day at church (when I as a kid) I overheard my Mom's friend tell me she was so tired of the snails in her garden that she got a galvanized steel trash can, threw as many of them as she could find in there, dumped in kerosene and lit it on fire. I would've loved to have seen that!

Jan while I like to eat snails...garlic flavored as escargots...I too have had the experience of walking barefoot on our walkway in England and getting them in my toes! ARRRRGHHHH My xh said it served me right for not wearing shoes. pfffft
