I absolutely love to check the mail. The one outside on a post. A real mail box, with real mail. Usually it is just junk, and goes into the little garbage by my desk. Other times, it is the 3 bills, I refuse to go paperless, for fear I will forget to pay them. (I do pay online, just want that bill in hand). Then sometimes, a handwritten addressed envelope appears. That so makes me smile. OH and any package from Amazon too! haha
Do you love to check your REAL mail?

I used to love it. Now the only thing I like about checking snail mail is the fresh air and a little exercise because I have a 72 foot driveway with a slope (down to the mailbox, up toward my house).

I wish junk mail would be outlawed. Think of all the money it would save and how much it would help the environment.

Junk mail is mostly all I get because I am getting most of my bills electronically. My county is a very slow in entering the modern age though. The water bill only became available electronically a few years ago. I'm still waiting for the trash company to step into the modern age.

Yes and no, I am always kinda wary that there will be a spider in that darned letterbox - I don't even know why seeing as that has never happened in 16+ years of living here. Hmm, I do have to wonder why?
We get brochures and bills and a tupperware catalogue once a month. Although 2 weeks ago there was an honest to goodness gorgeous wedding invite.

I never liked to check the mail until my son went on a mission. Now I like to check it to see if there's a letter from him in addition to his weekly email. Usually there's just junk mail or a bill. Like you, I haven't gone paperless on some bills because I like to have the paper to remind me to go online to pay them. The ones that let me setup up automatic payments, are paperless. And I do love getting those AMAZON boxes, but they're usually too big for the mailbox, so they end up on my porch, which is good because then I don't have to tromp through the snow to get them.

I feel the same! In the 16 years I've lived in this house, with its rural style mailbox at the bottom of the driveway, only once, maybe twice, has a spider appeared with the envelopes. But I am always careful when I pull the mail out, just in case!

Our mail is junk, for the lady who used to live here, and/or bills in my husband's name. Everything in my name comes electronically but whatever is in his name he gets in the mail. His ADHD prefers paper. :crazy

I did get a card from my ILs this week so that was nice. As much as I love words, I'm terrible abt sending actual letters & cards so I don't get many either. I think I only got 4 or 5 Christmas cards this year.

I absolutely love snail mail and compulsively check the mailbox. However, it is extremely rare that anything fun actually comes in the mailbox. One of my favorite things about when the kids used to go to camp for a month was getting letters from them.

I rarely get real mail anymore, but the grandma's do send card for the boys for things like Easter and Halloween, etc. And they LOVE getting those (usually because they tuck a little $$$ inside). :giggle My favorite mail is Amazon packages with artsy crafty painty goodies inside. :) OH or the orange boxes from Shutterfly!

I love getting mail. Just don't get enough fun stuff. lol
Mostly junk mail. Some bills. But every now and then a card for a bday, or holiday, and my kids get letters from their great grandma every few months, that they LOVE to see.

I keep saying I'm going to write letters or cards to send to others, in hopes of getting them in return, however, I'm the creative and the writer in both families, and amongst my friends, so I have doubts I'd see a return on my investment. lol

I love mail! I even have a couple pen-pals, so I get real cards and letters at least once a month. Which reminds me, I owe one of my pen-pals a letter!

I love getting letters. But we mostly get junk mail or bills. I'm like you, Anne, I like having that paper bill in my hand for memory purposes. Sometimes we don't get our mail for a couple two or three days. And our mailbox gets so full of the junk mail it's hard to get it all out without tearing something. LOL

Our dog even likes the mail. She knows that the carrier will leave her a treat. Just yesterday, I received a real hand-written envelope from my cousin. She found a picture of me and my husband with my grandmother from our wedding. I had given the picture to my grandmother, and when she died the picture ended up at my aunt's home. My cousin found it when packing up stuff after her mother went into a nursing home. So now it's mine again.

I love checking the mail! While most of it is junk &/or bills- I now get a REAL magazine (my mom got me a People magazine subscription for Christmas.) I LOVE getting my magazine & reading it through the weekend. It's so nice to not look a digital screen for a hot minute! ;) Also- I order online a lot so we have packages pretty frequently- so that's always fun! ;)

I love snail mail. We don't use auto-pay for many bills, so we still get them good old fashioned way :-)

Our granddaughter loves to go to the mailbox and get the mail when she visits - I've taken her out to do that since she was just old enough to walk! LOL!. It's the little things in life!

No I don't like it. Junk junk junk and then the few things that do not get paid electronically. Maybe 5 or 6 Christmas cards and 2 or three thank you notes from my son's adult-ish children. We fill up a good bag of paper recycling each week.

I'd rather have real snails.

Meh. I don't really like to check it...it's all junk lol. I don't even think I've checked it for a couple of days now. I probably would if I ever got anything worth looking at. The only time we get anything other than junk is around birthdays and holidays when family sends thank you notes. DH, on the other hand, loves to check the mail when he's home. He will even sit and open and inspect each piece of junk mail. He's weird.

I love snail mail! I make cards for my girls and they love getting them. But I can't remember the last time is (beside Christmas) I have gotten something personal.
Magazine are fun!!

@AnneofAlamo
Anne You want me to add you to my list?

Well, gals, here I am!! Anyone wants to send a letter or card, go for it!! And I WILL answer!!! I am 77 and I remember so clearly all the letters and cards that would come in the mail. I mean, other than the phone, letter writing was the only way to keep in touch. At Christmas, my mom and dad would get around 100 cards (because of my dad's job) and mom would sit at the desk for weeks writing out cards to mail out. Of course with stamps being only 3 cents, you could afford to mail lots of cards!! I can remember when stamps went from 3 cents to 5 cents and the whole country was in an uproar. How could they do that???? Now I just look forward to my magazines. I can't remember the last time I received a hand written letter. I received 2 Christmas cards this year. I mailed around 2 dozen. I HATE all the junk mail!! What a waste of money. MY cable bill is $140 a month, yet at least twice a week I get this big fat advertisement envelope from the cable company for something they want me to sign up for. Now multiply that by how many of those they send out and if they stopped that nonsense, or only mailed once a month, they could probably cut our cable bill in half! OK, carefully stepping off my soap box!!
