Day 24: Pieces of Me
I asked my daughter what her favorite "Pieces of Momma" were so I could take pictures. I totally expected her to say my chest since she always snuggles there, my hair since she wants to be a hair dresser BUT she completely surprised my by listing my jewelry and Starbucks! I think I might need to go to "Starbucks therapy" if my daughter thinks I always have a Starbucks on me.

My jewelry is kinda a competition in our house. She feels she needs to be equally represented on Momma. Each have a charm on my necklace, Each have designed a ring for me, Each have earrings. Except my left hand, for some reason wearing a ring next to my wedding ring bothers me.

Side note: when my hubby was designing my anniversary ring, she wanted a ring for me too so she made one out of a twist tie from the grocery store. I wore it all summer! Then I got the idea to have a ring casted from the twist tie so I will always have her special ring for me!

Day 26: Tradition | Heritage | During the 1900's | 150 word minimum

So the story goes something like this…

I was little, just turned two years old the month before and the church was having pictures taken for their annual Picture Directory. My parents decided to have pictures taken to be included in the directory but not purchase them. They didn’t have the money at the time. So my Mom dressed us in her favorite outfits. Mine was her beloved Raggedy Ann dress that she had sewn for me… a blue dress with a white pinafore that had an iron on picture of Raggedy Ann and Andy. My room was decorated in the same motif.

When we got there, I wanted nothing to do with having my picture taken. They started with the sibling pictures first for some reason. So they set up the photo with my brother and I, I was supposed to sit in front of him but at the last second I turned around and hugged him. When it came time to view the photos, my Mom went in to decline purchasing them and was heartbroken because the picture of us was perfection! The photographer was so sweet, thankfully! He looked at my Mom and said, “This was a once in a lifetime shot, please take it home. You should have it!”

My Mom kept the dress for me. I’m so thankful she did! When my daughter was big enough to wear it, I did a photo shoot of her in it for my Mom for Mother’s Day! Fingers crossed, she’ll have a baby girl and can continue the tradition.
