I find its the little things that get me thru my day. I've got a busy life, sometimes my brain feels like its going to explode LOL. But...I have a few little things to center me, to get me to relax for a few minutes. What are yours?
Always chocolate gets me to stop, relaxed and enjoy the treat. I mix choc covered almonds and raisins with a mix of nuts and enjoy a handful. Also, if I am feeling tired, stressed, etc, if I have it in the house or am out on the road, I will grab a bag of chips and that perks me up. Luckily I don't need that too often, maybe a few times a month, if that. But...when I have it, I really enjoy it. Lately I have been hooked on Miss Vickie's crunchy sweet chili chips. Another guilty pleasure is the drama/romance shows on Netflix. I binged Sweet Magnolias not too long ago. I get totally caught up in the story and forget how sore, tired, grumpy, whatever it is I am feeling. I usually crawl into bed and binge.
um ... Pepsi and 4-6 Hershey kisses, although nowadays I mostly limit my Pepsi consumption to a can in the morning and a can after lunch. Bad day though can equal 3 cans ...
Laying in my bed Candy (fruity usually but sometimes I'm in the mood for chocolate) Blazing loud music (and sometimes singing along)
I would say scrapping- or focusing on a challenge to keep my brain busy doing something. As far as a treat- I love just a handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Just enough to get that yummy chocolate but not too sweet! At work, as simple as it sounds, sometimes it's just a closed eyes, deep breath & slow count to 5 or 10 to refocus (or usually calm down...) lol!
During summer it's a ice block/popsicle or a fun fruity drink. Otherwise watching any of my fave reality tv shows for a bit.
I'm a pretty huge fan of sneaking a nap on occasion! Also, if my brain is going in a million directions at once I have a game on my phone that I love to play. It's a puzzle game where you have to get all the different colors blocks untangled and out of the their matches colored "gates". You can only mess up (die) 5 times and then you have to earn more hearts, so I don't play long which helps me get back to what I'm supposed to be doing. Lol. For snacks, my current favorite are these mini-Kind bars. They are only 80 calories, so I guess I don't even feel guilty about eating them, but they are cashew, dark chocolate and dried cherries and are so yummy!
