We have the MOST COMFY couch to sleep on in the world!
My bed is way more comfortable, but when I am tossing and turning (usually hot flashes). I know going out to the living room will not mean pain.
Last night 1:30am. HOT flash of the out of this world KIND.
I tossed a bit, and said, time to cool off.
Sat and read twitter for 15 minutes, in the cool patio.
Grabbed a soft blanket and cuddled on my couch.
530am hubby comes in front room, pops on light, I say I'm here.
He screams.
He thought I was still in bed.
He made coffee.
Lovely morning.
So, is your couch comfy, or if you toss and turn, do you get up and move someplace else to sleep?

WE used to joke, that we wouldn't have a comfy couch for sleeping, so we would be forced to stay in our own bed. bhahah

I find that putting a leg outside the blankets is usually enough to cool me down - or flapping the blankets. We keep it cold at night, so the air in the room is colder. You might try black cohosh for the night sweats; it helps me.

Our sectional is in desperate need of replacement, so no, it is not comfy. Our other couch is okay, but I really like my chaise chair for sleeping during the day. Great nap place, but I would not spend the night there.

The couch is okay but the recliner is better....I keep a fan by the bed but I still usually end up out in the living room reading. Grrrrr.

My couch is just okay... if my hubby is snoring (which is typically the reason I wake up at night), I go sleep in my daughter's bed. It's big enough! ;)

LOL! I can appreciate that, Anne. I haven't slept through the night in years!

My couch is OK. I used to move to it in the middle of the night when I would wake up and couldn't go back to sleep. Wasn't hot flash related either (for those I just throw covers off for a few minutes and they go away). Since I got my new mattress with adjustable base in November, I have only gone to the couch twice. I have been able to adjust the bed so that I am sitting up more when I need to which is why I went to the couch. Always needed to be in a half-sitting position (I don't have a recliner). I can do that now with the adjustable base of the bed :)

I have a very comfy "chair and a half." I love it, and I have slept in it many times in the 7 years we have owned it. I have scrapped about it even! :D

I need darkness when I sleep and though my couch is comfy, our living room definitely does not provide the darkness I crave when I am sleeping. We have a very large window above the front door that the street light streams into, plus there are all the blinking lights on the electronics hooked up to the television. However, my husband has fell asleep down there numerous nights and out of town guests have also told me it's a comfortable place to sleep.

I can and do sleep on the couch, but it is narrow,so if the dog wants to share it takes a bit of manoeuvring. We go down there if we can't sleep,so we can read or watch tv,without disturbing the other.

We just got a loveseat (that I hate) and haven't had a couch in years before then. It's comfy enough, I suppose, but as it is in the front room just outside the bedroom doors of both of my children (one of whom still wakes up in the middle of the night sometimes), I'd never sleep there. I'd get woken up for sure by them or my husband getting up at 4:30 am (which he does twice a week) or at 6:30 am the other three days of the week.

I get the WORST insomnia, so I can totally relate Anne!

I have this one couch that's been in the family since Victorian times. It is a mess! Chenille upholstery shredded by the cats, mysterious stains, an odd chunk out of one of the legs. But it is super-comfy. Not to sit on normally - for that, it's rubbish. But to lie full out on, with your head cradled on one of the arm rests: perfect! My husband soooo wants to get rid of that couch, but it's never gonna happen! I compromised, and it lives on the sunporch now, where it's perfect for a mid-afternoon snooze...

Our couch is reasonably comfy and DH increasingly ends up out there thanks to his own thrashing about. I struggle to sleep outside my own bed so that's my excuse. Am with you on the hot flashes though.:yawn DH and I are a nightmare combo right now :crazy3

And this.

My couch is awesome for an afternoon nap, though :)
My 12 year old would sleep there every night if I let him.

We got a new couch, one that we special ordered (cough cough $$$). We were excited because double recliners and special fabric that repels stains, dog hair, etc. The couch SUCKS to sleep on! As far as sitting or reclining it's wonderful.

To sleep on it UGH! It's hot, and it pokes because well, recliners have to move, etc. Lesson learned on that. At least the recliner we bought at the same time is comfortable to sleep in!!! LOL

I think our couch is too comfortable. I try my best to stop my family from sleeping on it. Drives me crazy! We have moved into our first house and everyone has their own bed. It's like they forget all about that.

Unfortunately, I don't get much sleep so I could fall asleep anywhere.

Our couches are comfortable for watching TV but not so much for sleeping, although hubby does get a nap on one every night...
We bought a new bed and mattress a couple of years ago and put our old one in the guest room. Our new one is a lot better for our backs but our old one is waaaay more comfy - so we happily go crash on it when ever the opportunity strikes.

Our house is a 3-level split, and we have an amazing old couch that Jim and I bought in 1991. I suffer from really bad insomnia and chronic pain issues that have me constantly tossing and turning, plus I snore like a freight train. Jim rarely snores and goes to bed early.

Because of these things, I usually sleep downstairs on the old couch. That way, we both sleep a lot better. It’s not ideal, but it works best for us.
