I hate being sick at Christmas.

On the bright side, I'm at my mom's. There's something comforting about being able to be sick on your mom's couch, and feel like a kid again.

On the bummer side, none of the Christmas treats can be eaten. Or maybe that's a bright side because I'm not gaining weight!

So, what are your favorite things to eat, and drink when you are sick?

Good on u seeing the bright side but i feel bad for you. Both kids & DH were sick this week but seem much better now.
My go-to sick food is Ravioli Soup (mum used to make it so i think thats the connection) its just packet ravioli in stock with a jar of tomato puree thrown in.
If I'm really bad, it's Vegemite on toast (it's probably again an Aussie childhood thing, i dont eat it usually & nobody here eats it from a spoon like they offer it to random tourists & tv show hosts etc) & if I'm really really bad, its plain crackers & apple juice!

Tummy bug-bananas & ritz crackers.
Cough/cold- pho, hot & sour soup, chicken won ton soup, wasabi, jalapenos, shots of honey warmed with lemon juice & cayenne pepper.
I hope you feel better soon. We're all stuffed up, but no biggie & we definitely haven't stopped eating :D

Aw, I hope you feel better quick!

I think the thing I crave the most when I'm sick is orange juice. I also like to eat soup when I've got a sore throat because it's soothing. And being sick is pretty much the only time I drink tea, also for soothing sore throat.

Oh no! So sorry you have "the bug"!

I usually drink lots of 7-up when I'm not feeling well - and eat lots of chicken soup.

I remember as a small girl whenever I'd be sick, I'd be able to sleep with Mom - and when I'd wake up in the middle of the night and tell her I was hungry, she'd get up and make orange jello and bring it to me in bed, while it was still warm, to sip on. Oh those are sweet memories from so long ago!! Not sweet because I was sick, but remembering what Mom did to try to help me feel better!

ginger ale, scrambled eggs, oatmeal. feel better Courtney. glad to hear you have your mom to help take care of you though! :beat

There must be something going around. Hubby came home from the swim meet very sick. Luckily for me, he remembered to kiss my goodbye before he went. I can hardly wait.

I like to drink hot tea or ginger ale when sick. Then there's the old standby - chicken noodle soup.

When im sick like ive been for the past week (a cold in summer) a variety of fluids is all that interests me.

Hope it passes quickly. I recommend lots of green tea. Toast dipped in applesauce is my sickie go-to food and also liptons chicken soup.

Hope you feel better quickly! Wouldn't want you to miss out on all the Christmas goodies!!!
Noodle soup is my go-to when I'm not feeling well and I sip hot tea. When I was little, and had tummy issues, mom headed straight for the ginger ale. I think that's why I can't drink it today...reminds me too much of being sick.

Ginger ale, crackers. For some reason, when sick, salty keeps my stomach from twirling. Then hot tea and soup.

Feel better soon! Hoping it passes before the festivities!

This is so true for me!

Depending on how sick I am, one of my favorite sick foods is hot McDonald's french fires. The overly saltiness is just delicious when I'm sick.

Thanks everyone! I'm feeling better today! I'm glad it's passed! Not 100% yet, but a lot of your foods sound good today!

I used to not want to eat anything, so it was great for losing a little weight. Soup, crackers, juice. Lately it seems like when I'm sick I want to eat EVERYTHING ...
