Sharing Scrappy Stuff |Pad Patter 1.20.17

Years ago I made a photobook of family recipes for my entire family for Christmas, featuring my mom's cooking. I put in recipes from both my grandmothers, as well as a few other Swedish ones I'd picked up along the way. I was across the country so I couldn't see them open it, but my sister said when they were opened (one per family and everyone opened them at the same time) all time stopped until everyone had read through the entire book. Made me feel warm all over when I heard that.

Then the typos started being found - like the fact I misspelled my brother-in-law's name, and got my nephew's middle name wrong. Oopsie!

I've made calendars for my mom.

My kids all really like their scrapbooks that I've made for them.

I used to make little albums for family (when I had a bit more time), but not so much anymore.

The only gift I consistently make is a little 4x6 calendar for all the grandparents, my hubby and of course myself. I also made a Shutterfly book for my Dad about 10 years ago before most people had even heard of photobooks and I used all pictures that he had taken since digital cameras came out. He is a great photographer, but he rarely developed any of his photos and NEVER printed any since he switched to digital. He was literally in awe of seeing his own photos in a book. It was the best feeling ever.

I really didn't like reading about all of you that have made albums, because I've never sat down and completed any albums that I've been wanting to make for years. LOL I've already created more layouts this year doing MOC than I've done probably in the past two years, and I'm not even caught up with MOC! LOL That being said, however, I made my parents a small remembrance album of their first 50 years of marriage, starting with their wedding photos and then baby pictures of my siblings and me, our graduations from HS and college, our wedding photos and our children. I've been wanting to do a family recipe book for years, and now my mom just doesn't hardly cook any more due to health issues, but I still want to make it for my siblings, and I know my mom would love to look at it. I could go on and on with my list of albums. Since I've started MOC, I'm now in the scrapping mood, so I'm hoping that once it's over, I can start scrapping to make these albums that I've been wanting to make, if they weren't already made during MOC.

I have make quite a few albums for family. Not really any for friends.

I love making photo books. Like you said, you finish one and it's so easy to give the link to family to have them order themselves or to reorder yourself.

I used to scrap calendars all the time & would give them to family for Christmas. I love the Shutterfly books, but have fallen behind. I like when my friends give me pictures to scrap. I post on facebook every once in a while asking for pictures to scrap. The people are always so happy with the pages. With as much scrapping as I do, I'd be happy to do a whole album or event for someone.

One I had forgotten was a little 6" album I made of our late Siamese Sebastian. I don't know if he was still alive when I did it but I ended up giving to the couple who were our consistent cat sitters when we went on vacations. She loved it and still talks of it now and then. I keep meaning to look at the various sites since I never got another copy for us - mostly my dh! - and it was that first trial one offered back then.

I usually use those free 8x8 ones from Shutterfly as gifts for grands. They are a big hit. I was commissioned one year to make one for a friend from high school about her nephew. She would always see me post pages on Fb and asked one day.

What an awesome album to make!!!

I make duplicate albums for my parents when I get one printed off! My mom loves having albums of the boys!!!
