Hello everyone, happy sharing ideas day. When I found this online this morning I thought - oh how wonderful that there is a day to celebrate how sharing ideas and working together makes a positive difference in our lives. Not quite - it's about encouraging people to work together and share ideas instead of trying to do things alone. I grew up doing things in teams and brainstorming ideas. Apparently current culture is going solo more and more.

Do you naturally try to do things on your own, or do you naturally go to others to work together?
Me, I might start on my own, but I always take my ideas to other people I trust or I know have expertise in a particular area. Working in teams is always my preference. That's one of the reasons I scrapbook here at the Lilypad - the challenges and inspiration in the gallery are ways of sharing ideas and working together.

Lets Share some ideas with each other.

1. Are you looking for ideas for a page you are planning on scrapbooking?

Can you share some ideas with me on how I would go about scrapbooking a page where my daughter is being presented with an award (the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award).
2. Is there a kit theme or element you would love to see in the store?
I'd love to see some more nativity themed kits for when Christmas time comes.

I definitely tend to work on my ideas solo. I will bounce ideas off my hubby, but usually my ideas are related to my own hobbies that he doesn't have much interest or skill with and I usually love trying to figure out how to do things on my own anyway. Except... I guess not on my own because I'll research online, Pinterest or YouTube, so I guess I do use other people... just not in person much. :giggle

For your scrapbook page on the award, I would think a nice big photo of her receiving the award and then a smaller section of journaling to describe the award. :agree Maybe even a little inset photo just of the award itself would be fun too!

As for kits... I'd love to see something for college aged kits and the things they do around college campuses and with studying, walking and biking to classes, first dorm rooms, first apartments, etc.

thanks for the ideas for my page. I need to get Joy to let me take a photo of her award later this week.

With my second child starting University in a few weeks I can so identify with your kit wishes.

I do things on my own. I’ve always been very independent, even as a child.

1. Are you looking for ideas for a page you are planning on scrapbooking?
For award pages I like to include a picture of the award, a picture and/or video of the presentation, and lots of journaling to tell the whole story behind the award. I also like to use metallic colors and star elements.

I don’t have any pages in mind at the moment since this week has been too busy to scrap but I’ll come back here if I need ideas!

I'd love more nativity events too Angela! We act out the nativity every December.

I would like to see pickleball, volleyball, and rafting (for river rafting and amusement park raft rides).

Do you naturally try to do things on your own, or do you naturally go to others to work together?
I'm a bit of both. I like to work things out on my own first but then I also live the element of bouncing ideas off of other people at times.

Are you looking for ideas for a page you are planning on scrapbooking?
Not right now as I'm not actually scrapping a whole lot at the moment given I've just come through the other side of probably three days of the worst headache/migraine I've ever had

Is there a kit theme or element you would love to see in the store?
  • I would love a leaving the nest kind of kit - something to scrap kids leaving home from their point of view.
  • Also I'd love a kit talking about being on your own (day to day life etc....)
  • Also a kit to document working/volunteering & maybe an add on for job searching and all that entails

I'm more of a work-alone person. But there are many areas of my life where I do work with others and I appreciate those people.

I'm going to start working on my Hawaii album and could use some ideas!

Is there a kit theme or element you would love to see in the store?
A kit specifically focused on Hawaii would be nice.
