So with MOC coming, these are a huge timesaver in photoshop!
(i still put them on their own layer more often than not and tweak them, but for Speed Scraps and such, and that's how I treat my MOC pages so as to still have some gallery and family time, they are awesome) .
A few weeks back though, I managed to reset to default my styles while loading some new ones and with that, I lost all the shadow presets I'd made (yes, i just about cried).

So do you use any of the designer's Shadow packs? (Feel free to enable me!) Or do you make you're own? Or do you shadow each layer with the sliders, like I've done recently ?

Oh and I also like to use the free paper warping action from Fiddle-Dee-Dee on a few key papers, word strips, etc. It's especially useful when I'm in a hurry. It makes it look like I spent a lot of time on shadows when I really only tweaked a few. Give it a try, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it! hehe

My go tos are just jaimee's story teller foundation shadow styles, or i have some from mommyish. I don't usually stray too far from them!

Eta: the ones i was referring to were in this one:

There's also a set in the storyteller Reed collection from summer 2015. (i think May or June)

The mommyish set i have I actually think was a freebie from.... Eons ago... But she *might* have them in her website freebie archive thing. :)

I use a combination of One Little Bird's shadows and Fiddle Dee Dee's because they both offer a 120 degree version which is my 'go-to" angle.

I'm a weird shadower - I use a few from different sets because I like certain ones the best. So, I use all the above (One Little Bird, Fiddle Dee Dee, and Just Jaimee's) plus I also use Mommyish's newest ones:

I have my own, which is saved from over the last 7 years of scrapping. I keep so many different kinds, so it's just click and move on. (From alpha, fasteners, paper, paper's opposite shadows, bows, oodles of leaf and flower styles, lol!) Occasionally, adding a warp or changing the darkness/lightness.

I have used Amber's and OLB's. I might have to give the others a try!

I use a mix of Just Jaimee's and Fiddle Dee Dee's (already linked earlier in the thread). I normally shadow at 45 degrees, but I also modified all of my shadow styles to use Photoshop's Global Light (then saved them to my own custom .asl file for backup!). If I change the shadow angle for a layout, now all of the shadows will automatically change with it.

I really want to try Mommyish's Realistic Shadows, but they are only for CC and I'm not planning to move from CS6 any time soon.

oh I have been wanting to clear my styles for a while and reorganize. This is a great motivator to be prepared for MOC!

I think I "need" those new ones from Mommyish. I typically use OLB shadow styles as the base and tweak from there. I've been too lazy to adapt and create my own.

I have old ones from Mommyish that I always use. Makes shadowing so simple!

I know how you feel about losing your "homemade" shadows because it happened to me twice...I'm a slow learner. I went back to old layouts and rebuilt from the shadows I had created on them. What a pain.

In also use Amber's shadows. One shadow that I made, and use all the time, is my reverse paper shadow which I put on all my stacked papers so they have a bit of of lift on the opposite side. It makes paper layers layers look more realistic and is a super time saver.

Good luck with your rebuild.

I've been using this set for ages.

Wow - I didn't realize how many shadows styles were in the shop here. I got CC last month and really need to start using it... hehe It's just been too easy to open PSE since I know it and my scrappin time has been limited with the holiday hustle. It's my goal to start using CC in January. I'll have to give those Mommyish CC ones a try.

Courtney, What shadow angles are included in the mommyish CC shadows?

Carol, I'm interested in that opposite paper style. How did you make it? Or would you be willing to share it as an .asl file?

very interesting. maybe you will think that I'm a crazy girl but I don't use shadow style and change them for each page. i've tried once to use shadow style and had the feeling that I wasn't free... yes I'm crazy.... lol

I use Fiddle-Dee-Dee and I love it. I get a lot of compliments on my shadows and I really do not tweak them at all.

I have a couple of old, old, old sets that I go back and forth between a lot, because I do put them on their own layer and tweak the heck out of them lol. I've been wanting to try a new set and love all the ones here in the shop, just need to pick one or two and give it a go :)

I use all the shadows mentioned. I also keep a backup file of my actions/styles/brushes on my ehd.
