Dating myself a little on this one, but whenever September rolls around this song immediately pops in to my head

But happy September, everyone! We are headed to the amusement park today for one last summer hurrah! The rest of the month will probably be just the work/school grind. My class has decided last minute to have a class reunion next weekend, but I'm still on the fence about going. I am watching the list of who's going before I make my decision :giggle.

So how about you? Any plans for the new month??

I always enjoy class reunions! It's different these days with social media because you already know so much about what someone is up to that it kind of takes the mystery out of it, lol.

For us, it's just back to school (9/4) and finish up our basement renovation. Work is going to be super busy, but I don't have any travel planned. I have a GNO planned, so that should be fun :)

Rainy day today although nothing compared to what some others may be dealing with later this week.

I have a family dinner/reunion on Friday night although depending on Dorian, one of the attendees may not be there and he is the reason it was planned! He is also supposed to attend his 65th class reunion on Saturday. He lives on the east coast of Florida and as of now it may be the area of landfall if it doesn't turn north.

More dental visits, have to renew my driver's license and the dog needs to get a booster shot in about 2 weeks. Other than that, got nothing for ya! :)

Go to your reunion!!! I had a blast at mine Jan.. call up a girlfriend you were friends with and go with her... I did that as my hubby and hers both did not want to go.. we got a room at the hotel where the reunion was held and we just had a great time!!!

Re me.. Thursday is my 58th Birthday so we will go out to dinner on Saturday .. I prefer to go out on the weekends to dinner. Also watching where this hurricane will land.. I have too much family and friends from Fl up to where I am at to worry about. Hugs

To everyone in Dorian's path here at the pad, please be safe!!!!

Have a couple of birthdays this month and a couple of doctor's appointments. Recording a podcast mid-month (with Digital Scrapbooking HQ) so I'm excited about chatting with Melissa. Other than that, the calendar looks open, but I'm sure it will start filling up with little things here and there.

Jan, I went to my 10 year class reunion (I was actually on the planning committee). After that, especially with Facebook, I don't really have a desire to go to any as I keep up with who I want to via FB. I did go to a multi-year reunion around the 20 year mark. I suppose I'm thinking if I haven't kept up friendships with these people to see them, I'm not going to now. LOL But if you haven't been before, definitely you should go!

I skipped my 45th reunion this summer. Had no interest in going partially because of my dental issues and none of the people I wanted to see were going to be there. It was also the weekend of many activities in town for the 50th Moon walk anniversary so lots of other stuff to do. However, 3 of the girls I wanted to see and I did get together just a week later for lunch. Two of us live in town. The other 2 live elsewhere (Toledo area in southern Michigan and Columbus). We had a blast and plan to do it every 2 or 3 months. When other girls from our class found out, they want to be included the next time. Now that is the type of reunion I can get behind. Much smaller group and people I actually want to see.

That was the first reunion I missed and frankly, it doesn't bother me that I did. Since I live in the same town I run into people quite often. We saw "hi, how are you" and "retired yet?" and move on.

We've been out of town for most of the spring and summer so I'm just looking forward to spending some time at home and getting my yard looking half decent again.

Well, I'm a guest Polly this month, so I've been cracking my knuckles and making sure my EHDs and PS are in order. :giggle The kids start school Tuesday, so of course there is that new school year chaos, but it isn't too bad this year. Tomorrow there's a neighborhood block party. DD's bday is coming up so I do have to get a few things sorted--she keeps changing her mind on what cake she wants, but eventually she needs to decide!

We are renovating our powder room. Yesterday we started tiling the floor. We've done well with staying on track time-wise, so I'm really happy about that. We started laying the tile floor yesterday. (We are taking our time and doing the work on the weekends. Tiling is tough since you can't walk on the floor for 24 hours and I'm such a stinker that I won't let us keep working until tomorrow. I want at least 36 hours of dry time lol!)

I love September. It's the month when the holidays feel close and the anticipation begins. This year, being where there are true seasons, I am especially loving the changes taking place. I feel the need to stock up for the winter months and to prepare to just stay home. It's also our wedding anniversary month. It will be our 51st on Thursday. So September is a good month all around!

We've started the month being out of town for a long weekend. My eldest surviving aunt had a party today celebrating her 100th birthday. It was wonderful seeing her and other family members for the second time this summer. We're taking two days to drive home to Wisconsin and will sightsee along the way. When we get home, I've got lots of activities starting up again now that it's September. It will be a busy month!

@IntenseMagic Love that EWF song and it reminds me to put on some good old oldies and dance around my office!

September 2 is my birthday so the only celebration this year is a friend making dinner for me (us) and a total of 8 at his house. I think I'm getting crab cakes/steak (RARE) and something chocolate. He's a chef so I know it will all be good. Then Thursday my chef son is visiting from Boston for a couple days and then...the big one for me is get back to morning walks. I'll probably start back to volunteering at the elementary school I did last year but not until mid September. Getting into the grove of that half mile walk to the school will be the groundwork for me.

btw, I love the later sunrises cause I can sleep longer!

It is different with social media. I almost feel like I see most of these people all the time haha. Good luck with the rennovation and enjoy your GNO!!

Hope you enjoy your dinner/reunion and the attendee is able to make it! Boo to the non-fun stuff! Hope it goes smoothly at least!

I'm checking in with some of my friends to see if they are planning on being there, and if they are I will go to at least part of it. The plans are for the hs football game Friday, picnic Saturday, and dinner Sat night. It's right here where I live, so it's not a hassle if I decide last minute haha.
Happy early birthday!! We are watching the storm as well. My mom owns a place on the SC coast.

Oh how fun!! I follow Melissa on Insta and I could listen to her talk for hours haha. Good luck with the dr. appts!!
I went to my 10 year and my 25 year. This is the 35th. Yikes, I'm old haha. I'm just waiting to see if some of my actual friends from hs are going. So far it's just people I wasn't really friends with and some I didn't even particularly like :giggle. We're also including the two years above and below us, so we'll see.

Yep, waiting to see if it's people I actually WANT to see before I decide to go. And yeah, I live in the same town I went to HS in and run in to a lot of these people all the time!

Enjoy your time at home and in your yard :)

Woo Hoo at Guest Polly!! So fun! I love block parties. I wish our neighborhood would have one! And Happy Birthday to your daughter!!
Good luck with the renovations!!

I need to enjoy September more. I really hate the cold, so I usually start dreading it in September instead of actually enjoying the beautiful weather that we do have.
Happy anniversary!!!
