Dear future self,

Your life hasn’t always been easy, it was full of struggle and at one point you didn’t feel at home or at easy anywhere.
But you got through it. You are braver and stronger than you think.
And no matter how dark your world seems to be, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.
Remember that no matter how hard your life will be in the future, it will get better, you will see the sun shining again, you will enjoy the little things again and you will enjoy Christmas again.
And don’t forget to smile because no matter how hard will get, you’ve got a lot of good things going for you.
You’ve got amazing parents and a wonderful family.
You are a good friend to your friends and your friends will be there every step of the way.
You’ve got a sweet little kitty who loves to snuggle and comfort you. Remember that you’re not alone and you’ll never will be.

Jan 11: On this day (Journaling Challenge)

My journal
I hadn’t been on vacation for quite a few years due to all kinds of circumstances. 2017 had been tough due to serveral reasons and situations both at home as at work. But the Summer had some pretty fun days and moments as well. We went on vacation to Vienna. My brother was visiting his friend and co-worker whos girlfriend is born and raised in Vienna. My brother wanted to take the plain but my dad said… we’ll drive you to Vienna. So instead of my brother traveling alone, it became a family vacation. The first one we had in 20 years. It was so fun to be traveling with my parents and brother again. In Vienna, my brothers friend and his girlfriend gave us a tour. We saw some beautiful architecture and heard some wonderful stories. We visited places other tourists probably won’t visit. And as a big plus… Vienna is such a lovely and beautiful city. I would love to come back again. I couldn’t ever imagine it, but I fell in love with this inspiring city. And now that I’m home, I enjoy scrapping my photos and reliving the moments so much.

One of my New year’s resolutions is scrapping more pages about me and adding them to my 2018 PL book. This layout tells the story about my nickname and about how it got it. My real name is Sarah, but when you want to register to a forum or a board, this name is probably taken already. So I started searching for another name. As a teenager I was passionate about Greek mythology. So I took a nickname based on one of the goddesses in Greek mythology. My nickname was Selena, the Greek goddess of the moon. But after a few years, I outgrow my nackname. So the search for another one started again. During that time, 2005, I often went to see the Magical Flying Thunderbirds with friends. They were a Belgium coverband. The leadsinger of the band his name is Philippe, but he called himself Phile Magical Fly or short PhileMF. So my friend and I called ourselfs NeleMF (my friend) and SaarMF (me). Saar is in Dutch the short version for Sarah. In the meanwhile, I dropped the MF, but I kept Saar. To make a long story short… My nickname is just the short version of Sarah. Some real life friends even call me Saar instead of Sarah.
