Rockstar moment | Pad Patter 10.22

This is similar to your Rockstar moment. :) I was volunteering in DD's classroom and the teacher asked me to make a poster. Actually, she said "Can you draw?" and I said "Well, I can try, and if you never ask me to draw again, then I know I can't." :) Anyway, her teacher wanted a poster with a list of events written out nicely and, next to each event, a drawing to accompany it. I was like "Uh... sure. Yeah, that'll be easy!" while inside I was going "WHAAAAT?! There isn't something to DRAW to go with that!" Granted, I was an art minor (for awhile an art major, but I digress), so this shouldn't have been too hard... except I hate drawing. I'm a 3D artist, no doubt. ANYWAY, long story longer, I did my darnedest to neatly write out each line of text and then to think of a creative drawing to go with that event. I was not impressed with my own efforts, but when I showed the teacher, you'd think I had discovered what "drawing" really meant. :) And the kids were like "Did you DRAW that?! Like, you, yourself?" I was like "Uh, yeah."
And then to top it off, some of the girls turned to my DD and were like "Wow, she can draw! And you were right: she IS tall!" Like, that's somehow related to the ability to draw? :nod Anyway, I kind of wish I hadn't done a good job, cuz now I'm afraid the teacher will want me to do stuff like that every time I volunteer, and I just don't like drawing. *blush*

that's a great story- so u were a rockstar to a whole class & a teacher!!- and i get it about wishing u hadnt done a great job from a volunteering p.o.v. too

@Tree City I used to be one of the tallest girls in my class but somehow that never translated into drawing ability! lol That's why Adobe was made for the rest of us. ;)

My rockstar moment comes when I make a batch of posole for my husband's periodic 'guys' dinner. It's usually 8 guys and trust me the pot is almost licked clean. I've actually grown tired of it even though I don't eat with them OR find any left to eat after they're gone. Meatloaf will also get me a gold star!
