Do you have certain rituals or habits you have to do? Like maybe you need a cup of coffee before you read the forums? Or maybe you need a cold Pepsi when you scrap?

Me - I have to check both doors and make sure they are locked before I go up to bed. I also have a ritual of locking the back door after the dog comes in at night because otherwise, I worry I'll forget him outside all night! It's a visual cue for me that he's inside when the door is locked. And water. I need my water bottle when I sit down to scrap with lots of crushed ice in it.

How about you?

In the last couple of years I've started to hold off on having my first Dr. Pepper of the day until after I've had my breakfast drink. When I worked I had that first one with me when I sat down at my desk at the beginning of the day whether it was normal time of 7:30 a.m. or earlier during busy seasons. These days it is more like 10:30 a.m. after I've been up a couple of hours.

The dog only goes out the back door and like you I make sure it is locked after letting her out for the last time. She is trained to use pee pads in the garage at night so she's actually never outside. I do turn the garage light on as a reminder to me that she is out there. Turn the light off and lock the door when she comes in.

I always have a Pepsi with lots of ice in my 24 oz. Tervis tumbler and cheese stick when I sit down at my desk M-F.

I have lots of little rituals.

Like what I do when I'm getting ready for the day....deodorant, earrings, then make-up, then hair and finally spritz myself with some kind of body spray or perfume. For some reason, I always do it in that order. Now, I don't necessarily wear earrings every day or wear make-up every day but when I do it has to be in that order.

I always start a load of laundry first thing in the morning, and I always make sure the dishwasher is emptied and dishes are put in the dishwasher in the morning.

I always fill my water bottle up first thing in the morning.

I always tuck my children in in the same order and they all require different things. One boy just a hug, the other boy I have to tell him what he's having for bkfst, one girl I have to give her a kiss on each cheek and the other one just a kiss on the forehead.

There are more but that's what I remember for now!

I know you were thinking about me! Ice cold Diet Pepsi preferably poured over lots of ice in my Yeti cup when I'm designing or scrapping or doing most anything. LOL

I have a certain way I do things in the shower. I wash my hair, followed by conditioner. Then I use an acne wash on my face. Next I will soap my feet and use a pumice stone to scrub them. If I'm shaving, that's when I do that. If I'm not shaving, I soap up all the body and then rinse and I'm out. I also have a certain way I dry off.

Same thing goes for my makeup . . . it goes on in the same order every time.

I do like routine too.
A 500ml glass of water when I wake up. followed by a cuppa tea when hubby gets up.
Then my phone, messages, and my games.
Washing, unpacking the dishwasher, shower and getting dressed.
I like the sameness of the day, the calm it affords me.

I wake up, do what I need to do in the little room then hop back into bed for a bit and check my job hunting email and job search sites first of all - if I leave it too late it will be overwhelming (I tend to check first thing in the morning, mid afternoon and early evening).

Snacks and drinks (usually diet coke or peach iced tea) when I'm scrapping though I'm trying to get better about the type of snacks I choose in general now so its less junk for the most part. Tends to be Brown Rice Crackers and Cheese slices or sometimes laughing cow light cheese and energy/bliss balls - I have a couple I rotate, lemon and coconut and caramel and peanut butter. I used to also have an apple and chia one I bought but I discovered that it had an additive my body can't handle (basically they took 50% of the sugar out but added a whole pile of extras in that had it been homemade they wouldn't have been there)

I like to shower before I go to bed. I always comb my wet hair and braid to to avoid tangles.
Every night Eric tucks me in... if he's qt work he wakes me when he gets home and tucks me in tight and kisses me goodnight

I have to put my left shoe (and sock, if wearing) on before my right.

Every night at bedtime I tell my boys the same thing - I love you, Daddy loves you, and God loves you.

Not too many other rituals or routines that I can think of because they're just normal to me and I don't typically notice unless someone points them out, but I am apparently very "quirky."

My ritual is with the dogs. I take them out when it is bedtime. I grab a leash b/c Remi doesn't always want to come back in after going to the bathroom. I go out onto the back porch, watch and if they are wandering around, sniffing and not wanting to come in, I jiggle the leash and she sees me with it, so often that will get her to come up the stairs. Other times I have to step into the yard and tell her to go into the house. Then once we get inside they each get a small dog treat that I keep in a jar in their cupboard (by the door) and then we turn off lights and head upstairs to bed.
