What defines a relaxed day to you?

My friend and I were talking about it, and she defines relaxed as a clean house, and time to watch a show after her kids are in bed.

I'm been contemplating this, especially this month when I want to spend so much time scrapping and commenting and chatting!

Today is a day I have few responsibilities. I finished school early, got some scrapping done, and was thinking about what I wanted to do. My house is relatively clean - please don't white glove it, or look under the bed at the dust bunnies! But, for me, relaxation also comes in food things. I made cookies for my kid, banana bread for my family, and I'm making beans to go with dinner. Things that take a little time, and often get pushed aside in busy times. These are the things I miss when I'm super busy and stressed out. In fact, I'm learning that baking and cooking are relaxing in a similar way that scrapping is.

So, what is a relaxing day to you?

I feel most relaxed when the kitchen is clean, the laundry is fairly caught up (I can NEVER seem to keep an empty basket for more than an hour LOL), and the rest of the house is picked up. Then I feel like I'm free to do what I want. Otherwise, I do what I want, but I tend to feel guilty or spend time trying not to feel guilty. Ugh. Why am I like that?

Oh - easy! It's a day when I can make stuff to my hearts content and not have to worry about fixing meals! I typically do hand stitching, knitting, or embroidery right now. This weekend I'm attending a virtual Regency retreat through the Historic Joseph Teel House in Connecticut, all while trying to get some embroidery work done. I'm having a blast!

I don't get a lot of relaxing days to myself but if I do I love to spend it reading, scrapping, maybe spending the day in my jammies, drinking coffee and ordering in food so I don't have to cook and then finishing up the day by binging something on tv. Not too exciting but definitely much appreciated when I get those kind of days.

Wkends are family time, but are somewhat relaxing, if I don't have anything special I have to do. Those days are usually spent walking the dog, hanging out with the family, cooking simple meals, doing light housework, but I still have a bit of time for scrapping and reading, usually in the morning.

Most relaxed for me is when the whole house is clean, laundry is done, dishes are done and I can just sit and do whatever it is I want to do...binge a show, scrap, or lay on the couch and scroll my phone.
I don't relax at all when there are things hanging over my head that need to be done.

I like to call them lazy days.. not waking till late.. staying in pjs.. snuggling in front of TV..ordering takeout..and doing a bunch of nada..and not worrying about doing anything but enjoying the day

Do you still have your package delivery job?

Yes, I continue to persevere at it. I'm dreading tomorrow. It's supposed to snow. I have little experience driving in snow despite living in Virginia for 20 years. I was a homeschooling mom. We stayed home when it snowed!

A relaxing day for me is when I have no place to go. I can sleep late, watch a movie, read a book, scrapbook, knit, maybe do some laundry and cook one meal so I don’t feel totally worthless!

There are two different types of relaxed days to me. The first is a true day off--I can sleep in and spend all day doing whatever I want, with no work, household chores, or parenting responsibilities. Those days off are rare, once a year or so. But any day where there are enough free hours to scrap for a few hours before the kids are in bed or all watch a movie together is a relaxed day.

A relaxing day for me is not having to be anywhere at a specific time, staying at home with leftovers for dinner or at least an idea and the supplies for making dinner.
Scrapbooking, being creative and an afternoon nap.

After 10 months of pandemic-ing, a relaxed day is a kidless one!

If I had a day to myself to relax post-vaccine and post-pandemic (I'm not sure I ever relax so much as just feel less anxious and stressed?), I would sleep in, grab or make something quick for lunch, spend the afternoon with a friend doing something fun, eat at a yummy restaurant for dinner, get home and change into jammies, and then scrap and watch a show or movie. I'd wrap up the day by watching a few TikToks before bed.

The most important aspects of a relaxing day for me would be no cooking, no cleaning, and no being responsible for other people's wellbeings. The rest is negotiable.

A relaxing day to me is a day off work, housework all done so I can just sit and scrap, read a book or binge watch my favourite tv show.

Ideal relaxation day....nothing too extravagant

Sleep in
Scrapbook
Watch reality tv
Do nothing towards job applications if at all possible
Have takeout/not cook

An alternative day could include having lunch out with my best friend but that’s dependant on a number of things.....how I’m feeling being number one but also she leads a very full life for someone that doesn’t work so we are often not available at the same time unless a tonne of planning has gone into it.
