we made 2 leftover ham meals this week... ham sliders on hawaiian rolls, and white beans with ham, celery, and carrots
For sure you have used all your ham by now, but next time make an easy pasta dish. Onion finely chopped, ham cut into thin strips, a few sliced mushrooms if you have any, cream and chopped parsley. Dry Pasta of your choice. Grated hard cheese . Boil the pasta is salted water, save a few spoons of water to add to the sauce if it becomes to thick. shallow fry onions gently until transparent, add ham and mushrooms . let them soften, then add cream simmer for a bit, season with a fair amount of pepper, and some salt and the parsley . Toss boiled pasta in add some of the cheese ( save some for adding at the table. Serve..... It takes longer to write it down , than it takes to cook t.
Okay, essentially you wrote out my recipe for ham tetrazzini - except we put it all in a baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes at 350". I thicken my cream sauce in a separate pan and use Swiss cheese. We like it well enough we covet ham leftovers. I cube them and freeze them until we need the baked dish.
