Random facts about who? You that's who! And well me too!

On a train trip up from Washington DC to Philadelphia to be on American Bandstand, we girls all had to go to the bathroom at the same time (of course) so our chaperone told me and my bff to use the men's toilet. We did but the door got stuck, we were locked in and they had to get maintenance to get the door open. I figured we could crawl out the window if need be but my bff sobbed and sobbed.

I haven't thought of this for decades!
OHHHHH This is such a great story!!! YOU MUST scrap this!!!!! Did you dance at AB?? I used to watch that show!

You asked for random... I have a twin sister (well sort of). Jenny was born on my birthday, just 8 years after I was born.

Here we are a couple of years ago with mom. I have 4 other siblings in addition to Jenny.View attachment 376427

And I can't hear tones at all...

My dad's baby sister was born on his 18th birthday! He become an adult and his mom gave birth... :giggle

Love these.

Speaking of choir and reading music. I can read music really well...many years of piano lessons. I was never in Choir. I can't sing but can play the piano. I did play the piano for our church's senior choir for several years.

My brother was born 10 years and 5 days after me. Why? Because I threatened my mom and him in the womb that he better not come on my birthday! My mom says I scared him so bad her labor stopped for 5 days!

I was in a head on collision on my wedding day when another driver lost control of his car and hit my dad and I head on. I got married on a gurney in the hospital. (I had to because I went to a military hospital and they were going to charge us alot of money if I didn't get married so I could use my husbands military health insurance. )
WOW! That's crazy! So, did you get married before they treated you or after?

Ohhh I love that! I want to have a cheese buffet!
Check your local grocers. Our Whole Foods, Kroger, and other stores have what they call "cheese remnants" or $5 or less trials. We like to raid those because it's good for a few bites of a new cheese without the commitment or price of a large wedge. It's munchkin's favorite thing to check out now when we go to the stores.

For many years I kept a small notebook in my car and recorded the mileage and gallons every time I put gas in the car. These days it is an app on the smartphone that tracks the information. I've been doing it so long I don't remember when I even started but I do know it has been over 25 years.
I used to do that too when I first bought my car in 1983.. I wonder why we started to do that? :)

I am a card-carrying member of the original Mickey Mouse Club Fan Club. Got it when I was three years old, and I still have it!
I never got a card but I still have the shirt (T) from when I was 2 or 3 with the MMC logo on it. I would sit in a little rocking chair in front of the TV with my ears on and my shirt and watch :)

Cool! I'll check Kroger next time I'm in there!

It was probably a side effect of the cost of oil skyrocketing in the early 70's and fuel efficiency became important. As I thought about it more, I think I started doing it in the 70's probably with the first car I actually owned in 1978. A quick google search found that the first standards for fuel economy was passed in 1975 (Corporate Average Fuel Economy aka CAFE). CAFE called for doubling the passenger vehicle efficiency within 10 years... to 27.5 mpg. Gas guzzlers were driven in those days! And the standards have been raised over the years. The current target mpg to be achieved by 2025 is 54.5 mpg and that was proposed in 2011.

Another random fact...

Captain Kangaroo and I were born the same week. The show first aired on Monday. I was born on Tuesday (during the time slot of the show's airing).

Random facr re Captain Kangaroo.. (Bob Keeshan aka Clara Belle) He lived in the next town over from me in the Town of Babylon on Long Island in NY... I was a senior in HS and in Drivers Ed we were driving past his house (I was driving) and I almost ran up on the curb and caused an accident as I thought he was out cutting his hedges. LOL It wasn't even Mr Greenjeans.. Guess it was his gardner, but I have never lived this down.. my friend Lori who I have kown since Nursery school was in the car with me plus another guy and the teacher. Lori never lets me forget LOL!

That’s where we got all our cheese! They just remodeled and have become a fancy Kroger and have a cheese section. There are basics of different cheeses labeled try new for under $5.
I don't shop at Kroger very often because I prefer our little locally owned chain, but this is definitely a reason to make a stop there!

I have kept a daily digital journal since January 2013.

I am a Lyme disease survivor. A painful five year recovery process, I was released from care in 2013. I just realized that this coincides with the start of my daily journaling. Hmmmm...

Oh, and I love cheese!

And one more, I can quack like a duck.

I've shared this one before, but I love the smell of a freshly sharpened pencil - Ticonderoga FTW! At any rate, it was so bad when I was in middle school that it wasn't uncommon for me to walk around with lead at the bottom of my nose because I held my pencil there during class. :giggle
Cheryl, that is hysterical! Speaking of sharpening things, I always hated sharpening my crayolas because they never had the same point they once had when you first got them. It was so disappointing to me.
