Hi and welcome to a new 'Hear My Voice' themed Mixed Media Challenge.
If you're not familiar with the 'Hear My Voice' Brand it's a monthly collaboration by Rachel Jefferies and Lynn Grieveson Designs.
Each month rich textures and unique digital artistry are created from a mixture of mediums to provide you with the right tools for expressing your thoughts and feelings through art journaling or mixed media scrapbooking.
This is a monthly space for collectors of Hear My Voice Digital Art to scrap their stash and get creative together.

This month’s challenge is all about “HURTING”.
Life is full of ups and downs and it’s often the hardest moments that we carry quietly within ourselves. It can be difficult to put these feelings into words, but creativity offers a powerful way to work through them. Whether it’s emotional pain, physical suffering, or the grief of loss and disappointment, art gives us the space to explore, understand and release our emotions.
Through creative expression, we can face our pain and gain new perspectives. It’s not about perfection or creating something beautiful, it’s about being honest with ourselves and letting the creative process guide us toward understanding and peace. Sometimes, just the act of creating can help us process and find relief.
Take the time to express your emotions in your own way, whether they are big or small. This challenge is an invitation to explore and release what you may be quietly holding inside.
You can, but you don’t have to explain your “HURTING”, you can just make it visual if you prefer and let your page speak for itself.
To help you get started, here are some material ideas for your layout:
*Textures: Use grunge or distressed textures to represent emotional depth. Torn paper, rough
brush strokes, or cracked surfaces can symbolize inner struggles.
*Overlays & Filters: Experiment with overlays such as fog, shattered glass, or soft light leaks
to evoke feelings of vulnerability or fragility.
*Typography: Choose handwritten fonts or rough-edged type to convey raw emotion. You can
mix meaningful quotes or personal journaling to emphasize your thoughts.
*Blending Modes: Play with different blending modes to layer photos, colors, and text in
unique ways, allowing certain elements to merge and flow together, reflecting the complexity
of emotions.
*Collage Elements: Incorporate ephemera like old postcards, newspaper clippings, or
fragmented photos. These can symbolize memories or fragmented parts of yourself that
connect to the hurt.
*Watercolor Brushes: Use watercolor or ink brushes to create a sense of fluidity or fading,
expressing emotions that feel hard to pin down or are in transition.
*Color Choices: Soft muted tones, deep blues, or blacks can evoke sadness, while flashes of
red or orange can symbolize anger or intensity. Let your color palette reflect your emotional
state.
This month I let my page speak for itself…
For my page I mostly used Rachel and Lynn's Hear my voice collection - 2 Hurting.

This is a product challenge, and Hear My Voice Products need to make up 75% of the products used on your page, but you can use any Hear my voice collection or even a combination of collections that you wish.
See the notes at the end of the challenge for further product clarification.
Challenge Requirements and Prize:
*Create a new scrapbook layout that meets the criteria listed above and ensure your layout is made up of at least 75% of 'Hear My Voice' Products (You may choose to create with backgrounds and elements from one, or a combination of Hear My Voice Products). The other allowable 25% must contain product from either Rachel's or Lynn's shop.
*Upload your layout to the Rachel Jefferies Designs Gallery at TLP and Lynn Grieveson Designs Gallery at TLP (when uploading into the gallery, you can specify additional categories under "Shared media with") and list the products used in your credits.
*For your challenge entry to be counted, you MUST upload your finished layout to this thread. Please link your thread to your gallery image as it helps us leave love on your layout (and validate your project).
*No double-dipping…your layout must be created for this challenge only, no others. You must create a NEW layout for this challenge.
*This challenge will remain open until 9th December.
*Feel free to tag me if you have any questions and I will respond as soon as possible.
*One lucky creative will be drawn at random to win our Decemberr Hear My Voice Collection!!
