1. Have you ever carved a pumpkin? Yes, we carved pumpkins for quite a few years when my kids were young-- they are all adults now and we haven't carved a pumpkin in a few years.
2. Have you ever painted a pumpkin? Yes, we painted pumpkins with my kids when they were very little.
3. Have you ever grown pumpkins? No, I haven't ever made a garden to grow veggies and fruits.
4. Have you ever eaten pumpkin? I have, not a huge fan. I do like toasted pumpkin seeds though!

It’s interesting to think about foods that are only readily available in certain parts of the world.

I didn’t like any foods with pumpkin when I was little, but as an adult I like pumpkin desserts.

Let’s do a pumpkin “have you ever” fast five:
1. Have you ever carved a pumpkin? Yes. Fun fact: when our kids were first old enough, we all carved pumpkins one year and as I was used to doing on the East Coast, we put them outside with candles in them. The next morning we woke up to find LITERALLY only stems remaining. It turns out that our local critters, Javelinas, here in AZ, LOVE pumpkins and they ate the entire pumpkins. Needless to say, we did not put them outside after that
2. Have you ever painted a pumpkin? Yes, after a bunch of years carving pumpkins, I got tired of the nasty seed scooping and painted them instead.
3. Have you ever grown pumpkins? Never successfully! I planted one year but never actually got pumpkins.
4. Have you ever eaten pumpkin? I love all things pumpkin, especially pumpkin pie and pepitas.
5. Have you ever made a pumpkin craft? I think other than carving pumpkins, no.

Oh yeah, and I eat a lot of pumpkin seeds (as well as other seeds) nowadays. I sprinkle them over veggie bowls and mix them into my oatmeal.

That’s fun you grew a small patch this year Becca! My mom only had three small ones grow so my kids were the lucky ones to get them this year.

You’ll have to try painting pumpkins sometime Grace. Just pick a small pumpkin so it doesn’t use so much paint.

Sounds like fun, for sure I'm gonna try to do it, thank you so much for advice, this year for us is winter, frozen land outdoors, and the farm sold all the pumpkins, but I'm gonna try to check in the local supermarket, maybe there is a small pumpkin.

I'm wondering when my kids will lose interest in carving pumpkins. My mom gave us small ones to paint this year but I want to try carving them instead. We'll see what the kids decide to do.
