I seem to have a good collection of them from Just Jaimee & Mommyish but....while I have managed to install them, I have no idea what to use them for in my scrapping? Anyone care to explain or show examples?

I'm still a beginner with styles, too, but I've already found a couple of things that I love them for!

They are great for titles because you can use any font you like, then apply a style to instantly give it a different look. I did that on both of the pages below:

If you use templates, styles are also awesome to use to apply to paper or embellishment placeholders instead of clipping papers or placing another elements. On this page I used a style to change the star scatter on Cheryl's template to silver glitter stars:

And on this page I made my own gold foil patterned paper by applying a style to a paper placeholder:

Mommyish and Jaimee are my go-to designers for styles but I also have others too. I use styles on fonts a lot and use glitter fonts a lot too.

@littlekiwi Jennifer...yes. I add a style layer to alphas, fonts, wordart, elements. Some are color styles, others are texture styles, some are distressing styles. There are endless possibilities. I suggest watching some of Leah's videos which will help you learn what to do with styles. Her videos are awesome.

@littlekiwi What I do when using a style on a font is duplicate that bit of text and then hide the original, simplify the duplicate and then play with styles on the duplicate. That way I can remember what font I've used in case I really like the look! Lately, I've only been using VW's Sticker Maker though. Easy way out....lol

Whichever way you do it, either action or style, changing an element/font into a sticker is a great way to accentuate the edges and make it stand out more against a similar colored background. I often apply a small sticker stroke on a font to slightly accentuate the edging without making it really look like a sticker. It's just a bit of definition that helps to make it stand out.

No...I'm not a felt fan but if you are I suspect it's as good as all Mommyish's other styles are ...excellent!

Cheryl made these two layouts at her Watch Me Scrap (Which is really more of a learning experience!).
This one is a good example. The spider web glitter is a style on top of the fill color. The witch hat also has a glitter scatter style added to it.

If you look at the Favorite movie words they are glittered. That's a style on a font.

Glitter and foil styles have been my go to. Honestly, just play with them. Open up an element or page, and start clicking through the styles. You'll see how they react, and it'll give you a better feel. Shadows are also styles, so think of it in a similar way?
