Project Life - shopping list?

I'm also going to do the paper version again with the digi line as a complement. If you are looking for other fun items to pick for use in the album, here's a few I have loved this year:

Smash pads - they do need a tiny bit of trimming, but they work great in the 3 x 4 pockets. It's a cool way to change up the journaling. There are 5 or 6 different packs now. (And I have them all. Eeck. LOL)

Tim Holtz tiny attacher - it's a mini stapler basically. I love it for attaching tickets and other memorabilia quickly and it looks cool.

Photojojo has these super cool Polaroid and Film Reel sticky notes. These are a good way to put square instagram into your pockets.

Bumping this in case someone missed the announcement yesterday (like me... :blush)... the binders are now available!

Oh- thanks for the awesome product recommendations Laura! I think I'm going to do the same as you for next year- Paper, but using the digi pieces to compliment my collection, because God knows I'll get sick of the same journaling cards for an entire year's worth of PL.

Thanks for the heads up Christina! I'm actually waiting for the signature binders to come out. I think I'm going with the black one. Am I weird that I want the Clementine kit, but the black binder instead of the Clementine one? There's just something about the sleekness of those signature binders that say "You want me".

I ended up getting all the page protectors and binder I wanted, but for now I just bought the Clementine digi elements and I'm going to use those instead of getting the actual physical product. I figured I would probably want to use text from the computer on those cards so going digi on those seemed the best idea.

So mine will end up being a mix of both digi and paper and I like that I'm not limited to just one kit too...I can see myself using all kinds of digi papers for it!

Oh...and Laura, I have ALL of those smash pads...what a great idea to use those in Project Life!! :)

This is exactly what I am going to do! I am getting the Clementine Core kit and I'm debating between the black signature binder or a leather 12x12 one from We R Memory Keepers. I like the idea of all my years being uniform....

Woohoo! I just ordered my Clementine binder this morning! Can't wait for the Core Kit now!

I used the Amber Project Life kit this year and just went with a regular light-blue colored We R Memory Keepers 12x12 faux leather album. Everything fits great in it. These albums are regularly $29.99 but I buy them at 50% off at Joann.com when they go on sale, so they were only $14.99.

ETA - for 2012 I'm going with Clementine (of course, I love Lili!) and just my own binder again.

I think I am gonna do what Christine did and get a different binder. :) I am not gonna stress on the photos. I figure Walmart or Walgreens 1hr or some such works for me and I can easily do that weekly and it's cheap. Like Laura said, I am just gonna let go of the perfectionism with my photos. I really think my family will like seeing these and the boys and I were looking through my stuff today and they so wanted the journal cards so I am excited to let them have a part in it or get them some disposable cameras sometimes and use their photos for a week...etc. I am going to approach it really laid back like!

Good for you!! Yay! My only suggestion is to download the ICC profiles from them. Run some test prints and see where they are before you print a week or two with them. Then, at least you know if you need to do any color compensation. I send the pics I am doing for my preschooler's Project Yearbook with her class to Walgreens. Even with the ICC set, I find their saturation to be high...lots of black. (I am sure every Walgreens has variation though.) As long as I send them over a bit light, I am happy.

thanks for the suggestion Laura! I will definitely do that! I might start doing that this month so that I will be ready to go in Jan! I will get some prints from WalMart, Walgreens and maybe CVS and compare and adjust accordingly!

So many amazing ideas in this thread! I bought a bunch of the plastic sheets and the blank journal cards. I am going to get my own binder somewhere since it is cheaper. I am debating on buying the core kit. I have so many amazing digi supplies at my disposal that I am leaning more towards making my own cards, HOWEVER I am wondering if that will hold me up and put me behind. I figure if I preprint a bunch of stuff, then it will still be easy to tuck in when I need it. What do you all think?

Aly, I love doing hybrid, but I know I wouldn't be able to keep up with it for the whole year. Printing photos will be challenging enough for me. :) So I'm buying the core kit, and if I manage I will print out some hybrid stuff too to add on to it. I have to say that all the new products in the store here (like this one for example) will make it super easy to print out cards!

Aly, I have quite a few digi add-ons that I use. I've found I am more likely to use them in my PL if they are pre-printed. Last week, I made a bunch of PDFs of my favorites and printed a stack, so I am ready for next year. As my book and the year has progressed, I find I like the eclectic look of mixing random journalers, etc.

I'm excited to have some people to motivate me to keep up with it next year. I've surprisingly kept up with P365 this year (digi) and have been eyeing that Clementine kit since I first saw it.
