Are you a procrastinator? Or are you a get it done when it comes up now person?

I'm somewhere in between. I procrastinate chores. And sleep too often! But I like to pay bills when they come in, and get mail taken care of right away.
The PTA newsletter? Yep. 2 weeks of Christmas break and I'm going to be rushing to get it done today. Whoops!

How about you? Are there spots in your life you procrastinate? Do you do better rushing towards a deadline? Or do you prefer the calm of getting things done early?

I am a procrastinator, but I'm selective about my procrastinator behavior. Like you, I tend to put off chores in favor of other things (reading, scrapping, stitching, sleeping).

Often I will have big plans for my day, especially if I'm thinking at night. Back pain most often derails me starting off productively as I wait until my pain medications kick in. By then, I'm into a book or I'm watching a YouTube video or I'm sleeping. If I'm having a good day, I try to take advantage of it. Usually, I end up doing way too much, and then getting in a pain cycle that takes a couple of days to get out of.

And around and around we go! :groan

I don't think of myself as a procrastinator. I like to get things done. But that doesn't mean I do chores frequently, and we only pay bills once a month, right after my husband's paycheck is deposited. These are differences in lifestyle preferences, not procrastination.

I'm good about getting bills paid, mail dealt with as it comes into the house, and laundry. I'm not as good at getting bank and credit card statements reconciled. I tend to put off chores, esp. cleaning the bathroom.

I've got a pile of personal paperwork that I dragged home from my office back in April 2019 when my boss decided to furlough me at the start of the pandemic. I have been slowly dealing with that pile, but ...

Another selective procrastinator.

Laundry... when I feel like it. Dishes when the dishwasher is full (about every 3 to 4 days). House cleaning, well, I have a cleaning lady. I will spot clean the floor is needed and I do keep all counters in the kitchen and bathroom clean.

Mail gets taken care of immediately. Some stuff never makes it into the house. Ads hit the recycle bin in the garage! My financial spreadsheets get updated about every 2 weeks and bank statements reconciled every couple of months. But I do keep an eye on those things even if not updating stuff. Most bills are on auto-pay so I don't have to worry about them. Just making sure they get recorded. And, income is auto-deposited as well.

Making phone calls is one thing that I do procrastinate on. I have to be in the right mood to make them since being on the phone stresses me out especially when talking to someone I don't know.

I'm an excellent procrastinator. With that said though, I get it done.

I am such a procrastinator -- mostly at work. I really need a deadline to push me.

I am quite good at procrastinating stuff that I don't feel like doing. But stuff that I have committed to, or am passionate about - always done early.

I procrastinate Life.. This not good. If I need do something, i am a child and refuse

That's a funny question because I only procrastinate when I don't want to do something. Hahaha Otherwise, I'm not really like that.

I am not a procrastinator, mostly because I am a very efficient prioritizer. I’m frequently asked to coach people on it (both friends and colleagues). At work, I almost never procrastinate because it’s such a time-waster when I have keep revisiting the same thing or respond to people asking for an update … so it’s way more efficient to take care of it immediately. I get antsy when I can’t check things off my list!

I’m a selective procrastinator too - if it’s something I want to do, it gets done, anything else well it’s procrastination central!

Also like @gonewiththewind I tend to push myself too much on “good” days with fatigue and end up paying for it later which ultimately leads to more procrastination.

Yep! There is a difference. And some of it, like paying bills once a month, is actually quite smart! Think of the time savings doing it all at once.
