We have an HP all-in-one that is hard wired to DHs computer and has wireless set up to mine, but it's never really worked properly. I've kind of had my fill of issues, so I'm ready to just get an inexpensive printer for my own use. I think everyone around here has really talked up Epson - true? What printer do you have and why (or why not) do you love it?

LOL. I have an HP all in one, wireless. :giggle
Mine is 8620 (from Costco). It was a more expensive printer up front, but in 3100 pages, we have only replaced the ink once. We print wirelessly from everywhere in the house - laptops, desktops, phones. We actually don't have anything wired into it.
I love that it easily grabs almost every "paper" I've fed into it. The only one I had issues with was Iron on Paper. We had to rough up the backside with sandpaper so it could feed it through. I like that it will scan for me, both flatbed and feeder. I like that it prints double sided. I like the "draft" feature for ink.
I love that I can replace only the colors I need to! Yellow died first, I replaced that. Two months later Red died. And only now has blue died (probably 6 months later?) No more replacing the entire cartridge over 1 color!

@bestcee Totally not opposed to HP. My laptop is HP and I've always had pretty good luck with them. I honestly think the issue is how DH has things set up, but let's not go into that ...

This was the issue my mom had with the exact printer I had. Somehow my dad had made it non wireless when he had it plugged in or something like that. I totally get you!

My everyday printer is a Canon Pixma. I super love the print quality and the extra features in the all-in-one.

Do you want to print photos, or just for general printing?

If it's just for general, I LOVE my Brother color laser printer- it prints planner stickers like a dream! And you can tweak the brightness/contrast/saturation, plus adjust each color channel individually. It's also wireless, which has been great. I had some trouble with it at first because my router would keep assigning it a new IP address, and then my computer would lose it, but once I set it up with a static IP it was stable, and I haven't had any trouble with it since.

I just bought the Canon Pixma TS9020. It's an all-in-one and wireless. It has some pretty cool features that I haven't played around with much yet, like connecting to my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Dropbox, Google Drive, Evernote... and pulling photos from those places. It also has it's own built in filters and a mobile app.

I have an HP Envy 5660 because I do the Instant Ink program; last year I made my December Daily pages in the Project Life app in a 6x8 layout, opened sent them to my phone, opened up in CS5 and resized them to 4x6 to print them with my printer to washi tape into my TN. The photos were all taken using my cell phone and I didn't do any kind of editing to them...no white balance, nothing and they turned out pretty good! I'm sure had I done some light editing to them on my phone the photos would have looked a million times better, but I'm still happy with how they turned out.

I have had the Canon Pixma MG7120 for about 3 years and I love it. It was only $99 at the time (good sale, but still reasonably priced) and it's an all-in-one and is wireless and works like a charm! I can even print from my basement craft room to upstairs and it's pretty far away. It also does airprint from my phone which is just cool. :) And it's white which I love! :)

So, initially I was thinking just a cheap, basic printer. But the more I think about it, the more I wonder if I should spend a little bit more, just in case. Right now I hardly ever print anything because it's a PITA. But if I had my own printer that actually worked, I would probably print more things, including photos and stickers.

I print photos, stickers and all kinds of hybrid stuff on mine and couldn't ask for more. It even has a tray for 4x6 photo paper and I've been very happy with the quality. I think my printer prints better color than our laser printer at work even.

We've had HP and Epson and I've loved them all (except for the large-format Epson that didn't play nice with Photoshop and neither Adobe or Epson wanted to discuss it!). Right now I use a wireless Epson XP-820. The reason for that model is that it was the only one at Staples or Best Buy (or anywhere I checked) that could print on cardstock. You're right that it might be the set-up on your printer that's causing the problem but since I'm assuming that won't change, printers are cheap enough for you to have your own! Just hate the cost of ink though (even with the individual cartridges) and I just paid $21 for a single XL ink cartridge for my printer...ugly!

I am a total Epson girl. Yep..I print everything, photos, paper to scrap with etc. Right now I have a 960 and then the wide format 1430. I just love the print quality. I have had people at crops ask where I got my pictures printed because they looked so good. Both are wireless

I also have a b&w Canon laser just because I needed it for "foiling" design team stuff for Therm O Web. It does come in handy though to print something quick. It has the issue of "losing connection" a lot! LOL

In my experience, the cheaper the printer either the more expensive the ink or the worse it works for me! We did pay more for our current one, and it's been worth every penny!

I have a Canon Pixma-Pro 100. I super love it. There is nearly always a rebate on it to bring the price to $129, but sometimes you can find it for less than that. The rebates are at places like B&H or Adorama.

I have been scrapping for close to 10 years and have several thousand layouts done, but hardly any printed because when I started, I scrapped out of order and don't have complete years done. Since getting this printer, I printed two entire 2016 albums (one for each of my kids) and am mostly caught up with 2017. I use it primarily as a scrapbook printer and it prints up to 13x19, so I can do 12x12s on it (although mostly I print 8.5x11 - only PL spreads are 12x12).

I have print credits at a couple of big printers for my old 12x12s, but I think once I go through those I will likely just print every single thing at home for the convenience.

OMG, I am so all over this with that rebate. Thanks Molly!

CanonPixma MG7520...while it's wireless, it isn't for scanning so...I always keep it plugged in. That annoys me but it's something I missed when buying it. Otherwise I've loved it. I also bought it because it's white....I got sick of the lump of black next to my iMac. We Mac people can be like that.

@mollyc Have you ever estimated the cost of printing a page at home? I thought I'd do more but I don't as I'm strictly 12x12 unless it's a rare 4x6 photo or card I'm printing for someone.
