I can't for the life of me figure out how to put a full 12x12 background behind this template...It's so maddening! Especially when I see everyone else is having no trouble putting papers and elements, and all sorts of beautiful things around the outside of the template. Why is this happening?:badputer

Carol, I used the template as it and then saved it like a regular file. When I started working on my 12x12 layout, I just pulled the smaller template in on top of it. I don't know how others did it, but that was the only way I could work it out in my head.

What program do you work in? If you use Artisan, I can send you a page file that is a 12 x 12.

@Carol K. - sorry I didn't see this last night. Are you good?

You can open Gaelle's template and open a new blank 12x12 too. Then select all the layers & drag all the layers to the new blank 12x12. (At least that's how you do it in full PS). It's been so long since I used PSE.

Or you can adjust your canvas size. Make sure your background layer is unlocked. (Double click on it. ) Add a new layer. Drag that new blank layer to the bottom so it is the background. Go to Image>>>Canvas Size >>> and put 12x12 inches in for the dimension.

@jenn mccabe , I tried to unlock the background, and pull a full sheet underneath the template, but even when I stretched the template's bounding box, no image would fill outside the template's original footprint. If I tried to place the template over a 12x12 background, I lost the templates layers and it became a flat image. I got a great strategy to fill the template as I desire separately, save it, and move the finished part over a full sized 12x12 after I scraped the template. Thanks for the help! I won't be at my PC till very late tonight, and I'm raring to make this work. AUGGHH! Thanks, again!

If you try to pull a 12x12 into the existing template it won't extend past the original template size to the 12x12. You have to change the Canvas size (i.e. tell PSE that you want the canvas - or document itself - to now be 12x 12). So you do that through Image>Canvas Size > 12 x 12 inches for the dimension. HTHs!

Thank you, Jenn! I knew there was a way! I actually had a couple of deliveries to make this morning and stopped home "for lunch" to sort this template dillema out.

So glad you learned something new & were able to work through it @Carol K. - because your page is gorgeous! You are a trooper! :) (Now the trick is if you'll remember how you did it for the next time, lol! I usually need to repeat things a few times before it sinks in, hee-hee. I hope your not like me! )
